The 11th Carnival of Blue Stars

Our Warriors:

Thirdee at Code Red* Women for the Troops tells the stories of US Army Spc. James Burnett and Capt. Thomas Douglas.

AubreyJ has a great photo of the day. Go look. The very talented AubreyJ has also made this video - a must see.

War on Terrorism

The Wake Up Cafe gives a riveting account of seeing the movie United 93. When the movie started without sound she writes:  ‘Most of us were sitting there doing little or nothing about it. How like September 10th we are I thought. Still.’

That is what the movie exemplified. How unsuspecting, Americans on that day were clueless to the evil theatening to engulf us. That the air traffic controllers who were actually listening to the events in the cockpits were not at first believed. How unprepared NORAD and the Air Force were. There were only four interceptors available to send and even that was a screwup because the fighter jets were sent East over the ocean. So much precious time was lost because of bureaucrats unwilling to take a stand.

A Lady’s Ruminations also posts about United 93.

Some people might think it is too soon for a 9/11 movie. I think it has taken too long. People have forgotten what happened on that horrifying day. People no longer care that we were attacked, out of the blue, and that there are wicked terrorists out there who will do anything to bring us down . . . if we don’t stop them first. I’m glad to see a good movie which doesn’t gloss over the facts.

Ace in the Hole reports on the most recent al-Quada leader releasing a tape saying they have ‘broken’ the U.S. in Iraq.

Woman Honor Thyself analyses who’s the good guys and who’s the bad guys in the Iran vs. Israel situation.

Church and State looks at American Hiroshima Linked with Iran Attack.

Politics

The Median Sib say Our Soldiers Will Fight Your Wars. She refers to a post by Michelle Malkin about students vandalizing the ROTC headquarters at the UNC-Chapel Hill.

Woman Honor Yourself has a similar story of war protesters at the University of Chicago.

I think maybe somebody forgot to tell these students that we have an all volunteer army. Nobody is making them fight any war. Thankfully, we aren’t dependant on these students to keep us safe and free.

The Amboy Times gives an indepth review of the film, Islam: What the West Needs to Know. The film is due out this summer. Would hollywood really put out a movie that is this politically incorrect?

One of my favorite bloggers is Ruthlace. The fact that she happens to also be my mother does not influence that at all. She may not want to claim me and my blog. (g) She has an interesting post that puts politics in some perspective. As she says, she’s lived long enough to see that politics have been alive and working for along time. Some things never change.

Check out Freedom Watch - she’s got a podcast rant on Monday.

Should we fight for America as our fathers and fore-fathers did? Or perhaps we should just hand it over, through appeasement and an avoidance of conflict, to the Latinos, islamic terrorists and anyone else eyeing this land.

It’s our call.

The ‘new’ Spanish National Athem is just OVER THE LINE …. imho

I agree with Uncooperative Blogger on this:

Okay Mexico, you want to play? I say we all Boycott Cinco de Mayo! That is the big May 5th celebration Mexico celebrates in which we consume huge amounts of Mexican food and products. So, on May 5th we will buy NO Mexican products this year. We will celebrate Cinco de Mayo by staying home and ignoring anything Mexican. Heck why don’t we extend this idea to boycotting Mexican products all together until this mess is fixed. No Mexican beer, produce, or any other product made in Mexico. Mexico should have stayed out of our politics.

I agree it should be taken further. No latino anything till they start playing nice. However long that takes. Yes, that includes your favorite Mexican restaurant!

We really need to get control over this country and take America back from the weak, sick and cowardly who are trying to represent us around the world.

What happened to Americans like this….

Islamic Terrorism and Sensitivity

We are stressing out Jihadist and we need to stop it. It seems we need to be more sensitive in our verbage.

Using terms like ‘Islamic Terrorism’ is actually, UNBELIEVABLY identifies Islam with terrorism.

Omar Faruk, a Muslim British barrister who has advised the government on community issues, said there was a strong need for a “new sort of political dialogue and terminology”.

Asked about the phrase “Islamic terrorism”, he said: “Those words cannot sit side by side. Islam is actually very much against any form of terrorism … Islam in itself means peace.”

The widespread use of the expression “just creates a culture where terrorism actually is identified with Islam. That causes me a lot of stress,” Faruk added. [source]

Oh dear! I hate he’s stressed!

The lexicon would set down guidelines for EU officials and politicians.

“Certainly ‘Islamic terrorism’ is something we will not use … we talk about ‘terrorists who abusively invoke Islam’,” an EU official told Reuters.

Other terms being considered by the review include “Islamist”, “fundamentalist” and “jihad”. The latter, for example, is often used by al Qaeda and some other groups to mean warfare against infidels, but for most Muslims indicates a spiritual struggle.

“Jihad means something for you and me, it means something else for a Muslim. Jihad is a perfectly positive concept of trying to fight evil within yourself,” said the official, speaking anonymously because the review is an internal one that is not expected to be made public.

EU counter-terrorism chief Gijs de Vries told Reuters that terrorism was not inherent to any religion, and praised moderate Muslims for opposing attempts to hijack Islam. [same source]

Praised moderate muslims for opposing attempts to hijack islam? They praised MODERATE mulsim for opposing attempts to HIJACK ISLAM?

Okay.

Okay?

Where?

Where are the moderate muslims? Please point them out and what they are doing to OPPOSE attempts to hijack islam. I’d love to see CAIR front and center. I haven’t. Have you?

So, does that mean we can’t let the words ‘European Union’ and ‘Dhimmitude’ sit side by side?

I can’t help but wonder if these people raise their kids this way. Is there no personal responsiblity about ANYTHING anymore? Do they empower and reward their kids for breaking rules? Are there any rules?

Ignoring conflict does not make conflict go away. Avoiding conflict CREATES UNAVOIDABLE CONFLICT. What is so difficult to understand about that?

This is the same kind of mind-set that says:

  • You shouldn’t go see the movie United 93 because it might remind you of how upsetting it was to get attacked on our homeland by ISLAMIC TERRORIST.
  • We should give amnesty to ILLEGAL ALIENS because we don’t want to upset them. Whoops. We aren’t supposed to call them ILLEGAL ALIENS because that might cause some conflict and upset them.
  • We should accept a HISPANIC VERSION OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM!!! A version that is not only in ESPANOL but CHANGES THE WORDS OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM!
  • Cartoons depicting muhammad, as benign as they are, is a bad thing. Cartoons attacking anything Christian is a good thing.
  • We deserve whatever anyone does to us because we are powerful and wealthy.

We are powerful and wealthy because this form of government works. Socialist, communist and dictator style governments are failing or have failed because those forms of government don’t work.

I realize common sense isn’t that common. But come on. Is it really that hard to understand?

We’d better not lose our resolve.

Is Islam a death cult? You can google it. I found this at Something … and Half of Something:

Also at Theodore’s World.

Also see: European Pacifism, Manifesto Against Islam, Mohammad: Prophet of Peace, The Dane’s Unique Moral Courage, Will We Let Islam Bully Us?, Gevoelig: Sensitivity Cartoon

Have we opened a Pandora’s Box of political correctness?

Sammenhold Round-up

It’s time to see what people on the Sammenhold Blogroll are up to around the blogsphere.

I only have a few minutes - so this is going to be a real quick round-up.

sugiero has a mohammad cartoon slideshow. Also, see sugiero’s post on Obession: The Movie, Radical Islam’s War against the West.

A Lady’s Ruminations says the White House press corp are pitching a fit. Poor babies! Also see her post as part of the Stop the ACLU Blogburst regarding the ACLU’s attempts to legalize the distribution of child porn - disgusting!

Carry On America has an article about George Allen of Virginia, pointing out the bias the media often exhibits towards the South and Southerners. One of my own personal irritations.

Born Again Redneck has some really good thoughts about what makes a hollywood hunk ‘hot’. He has pictures too, ladies ) . One of my personal favorites is the last one he shows.

Code Red* Women for the Troops has stories to check out, including that ridiculous story from Michigan State University in which Islamic students demand a professor be reprimanded for saying Muslim students who don’t like the West should leave the United States. Shame on him!

Mariniello honors the fallen heros of Italy. Onore ai caduti. And has an interesting discussion going on regarding the BATTLE of Iraq and the role of the United States from an Italian point of view. Yes, I had to use a translator! Viva l’Italia.

[I'm out of time for tonight - I'll round-up more Sammenhold Blogs tomorrow! Meanwhile, Ciao]

Cynthia McKinney and Peace Moonbeam

Poor Cynthia. She just is having an awful time of things lately.

She did an interview locally and didn’t like the way the interview was going. She tried her best to intimidate the interviewer to stop her from asking about the incident in which Cynthia hit a law officer.

When that didn’t work, she walked out of the interview.

BUT, when she walked out of the interview she apparently forgot she still had the microphone on!

This article just doesn’t do it justice - but this tells a little of the story.

So then, when she realizes she’s still got the microphone on, she comes back and tries to tell the interviewer that she’d better NOT air what she’d said while she had forgotten the mic was on.

She glared, was firm, and covertly threatened. You will not air this, she said. If you air this I will deal with you, she threatened.

The local station has shown this a number of times today. The interview, her walking out, what she said and how she behaved when she returned to inform them they would not air the part she didn’t want them to air.

The station said they don’t cave into intimidation (or something along those lines). They are not loyal subjects of Cynthia’s realm!

Cynthia is SO mad!

Poor Cynthia.

So what does that have to do with Peace Moonbeam? Well, go look.

An Ecosystem Run Amok

Not that it matters, but when I got up this morning and did a brief look-see at my blog I noticed something strange with the TTLB ranking.

I took a gander at my stats and they were in half. IN HALF. How’d they get cut in HALF overnight?

Of course, I don’t really care, but WHAT HAPPENED?

Last night there had been a few comments left on this post that I deleted. There were a dozen or so of them. They said things like ‘eat sh*t’. I thought they were awfully clever in the way they phrased their displeasure with what I had written. And Lord knows, I believe in free speech. But all the same, I deleted them. It’s my blog and I can.

Did the little not-so-clever commenters delink half my links? Surely if they were smart enough to do that they would have been smart enough to come up with some kind of retort other than, ‘eat sh*t’.

Anyway, I’ve been cut down to half.

Not that it matters.

It really doesn’t, honest it doesn’t. I could care less. My life doesn’t revolve around TTBL rankings and that sort of thing. It just doesn’t matter at all. Not a bit. Really.

So on to good news.

I joined the Hillbilly Ecosystem. Now, I have to say, that is undoubtedly the friendliest group of people I’ve ever met in the blog world. They are just down home and friendly. I’m sure they’re so friendly cause they are thrilled to have me as a member and has nothing to do with the fact that they are all lickered up most of the time.

I was hoping to be a mill manager or a supervisor in the Hillbilly Ecosystem. But now that I’ve been demoted in the TTBL system I may or may not qualify. I really don’t want to be a welfare queen. That was really bad timing to get so many de-links. Maybe N.Z. Bear knew I joined the Hillbilly Ecosystem and is afraid of the competition and that’s why he cut my links in half??? Well, quit looking at me like that - it’s possible!

Not that it matters.

If you go over to the Hillbilly Ecosystem, say ‘hey’ to Lemuel (I affectionately call him Lee Mule. I don’t think he thinks it’s funny, but he hasn’t hit me up side the head with an iron skillet yet).

If ya sign up for the Ecosystem, you get your very own highway sign with only about 10 or so bullet holes in it. Those are right good for target practice - as -  you - know. You also get on his list to get all kinds of messing with from a bunch of heavily armed lickered up hillbillies.

Like Lemuel says, we’re all heavily armed because we’re - well - hillbillies.

Take a fishin pole and baccy and set u’r mind to sat a spell cause he does lack to jabber.

You’ll get to hang with the lacks of some right passable hillbillies. Like Lemuel says, looks like they can read and write pretty good.

That’s the silver lining in the de-linking black cloud.

Now, shoe …..  go on with ya …. I got to go to the dollar general ’n get me some duck tape and see if I caint get this ecosystem thang fixed four it gets any worst.

Osama Bin Laden Issues New Tape

PIG Laden, hiding and shivering in some cave in the netherlands of somewhere in the middle of nowhere has issued a new tape.

The MSM says he’s being clever.

I say he’s an idiot covered with pork.

What the MSM views as clever is him trying to convince Arabs that he doesn’t mean to kill other Arabs. He’s gotten the idea the Muslims are getting a little fed up with his insurgents and jihadists killing other Muslims in their attempts to fight the West.

He says Christians and Jews are the same and are colluding to rid the world of Muslims.

He says the Saudi Prince is standing in the way of an all out cultural war with the West. (Remember their attacks against Saudi Arabia). (Arab newspapers are conveniently leaving this part out.)

He says he cares about Palestine. Then put your money and your soldiers where your mouth is, Pig Laden. Won’t happen. No Arab nation helps Palestine, they just use it as an excuse to bomb Israel.

Israel helps Palestine more than the Arab world.

Unlike the Muslims, we love our children. You can send every child in Islam out as suicide bombers if you like. We will not tolerate you or the entire Muslim world to stand in our way to protect our own children.

They say if they defeat the Anglo Saxons the rest will submit.

I say - BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU ASK FOR Osama PIG LADEN.

We Stand Together!
