Remember the Alamo

I’ve always loved cowboys. America is still full of the cowboy spirit.

I was so proud to hear about the thousands of Americans volunteering to guard the borders. I’ve heard varying reports of the numbers - so I’ll just write ‘thousands’.

For some reason seeing these Minutemen sitting in lounge chairs with binoculars on the border made me think of the enduring American spirit. You know, that part of us that still has that cowboy blood in our veins. I don’t think our enemies, both domestic and foreign, realize how easily that part of us rises back to the surface when confronted with a threat.

Our forefathers and mothers took ships across an ocean having no idea what lay ahead for them. They crossed the country in covered wagons, having no idea what was over the next hill. They were a tough, adventurous and aggressive people, and we are their descendants. That hasn’t been completely bred out of us yet.

A lot has been made out of how our ancesters took this land. Manipulating American guilt has gotten a lot of people a lot of advantages.

My answer to that is simple. Every civilization has been formed from warfare. The Native Americans fought among themselves (Canada, Mexico and USA areas). European, African, South American and Asian states were formed the same way. Whoever wins gets the prize and gets to write the history. That’s the way of the world and always has been.

As I watched the modern day version of American cowboys (frontiersmen might be a better word for it), I thought of the Alamo.

189 men held off the entire army of General Santa Anna for 13 days. They knew the sacrifice they were making, they were hopelessly outnumbered. There was no chance of resupplies or reenforcements showing up.

They fought to the last man and killed approximately 1,600 of Santa Anna’s 2,000 troops before they were finally overun.

They did it for the liberty of Texas.

For those who would do America harm - whether through trying to overun us with illegal immigration or infilterate us with muslim dhimmitude and jihad - you might take a lesson from American history.

Americans will make enormous sacrifice at the altar of liberty.

Remember the Alamo!

    A very good post, Beth!
I just hope Americans can quickly get in fighting form when needed. It’s hard to fight when part of the population considers it their ‘hallowed duty’ to act as human shields in the name of pacifism. It’s hard to gear up and go when thousands are calling you ‘murderer’ simply because they’ve been brainwashed into equating “Gun + Soldier” with “War and Wrong”.
That portion of the population which feels it is unpatriotic to defend ourselves, our shores, our borders may be our undoing. But I believe that, for all their braying and protesting, they are indeed just a very vocal minority. Most Americans would answer the call, and work out the politics later.

(side note to Beth-Liberty can’t be ‘altered’ but there is an altar of Liberty. Imagine a winking smiley face here.

Thanks for the spelling correction Doug - I forgot how to spell when spell check was invented and I forget to check myself on this! lol (pretending I knew how to spell to begin with).

I agree with you also about the very LOUD minority. Unfortunately, they are heard around the world and I worry that our enemies would think we are all that lilly-livered. (g)

We must be on the same wavelength today cuz I have my Alamo t-shirt on! lol And my picture of Davy Crockett is (always) by my desk.
You know there were alot of wimpy people who stayed behind in “safe” Boston when the pioneers headed west - I think their descendants are still there sadly.
I’m glad the “silent majority” is starting to speak out!
    Love the Post!

Two views of Immigration and “the Minute Men”….

On the one hand, there’s this slander from Immiration Law Weekly (published in tin-eared New York City - when they were actually working from “Tin Pan Alley”, they had a better handle on the rest of the country).
