FrauBudgie at Red Hot Cuppa Politics explains some of the Deep Symbolism in Military Funerals.
Michael the Stingray is Remembering the Brave. He has an excellent post on the Marine tradition of caring for the families of the fallen. Take your hankies when you read this post.
Texas Fred over at Ace in the Hole has a Military Support Slide Show that’s well worth seeing. He says our TROOPS have the GUTS to get the job done. He wonders if our leaders do.
I was really taken aback by AubreyJ’s photos of the day the other day. He keeps running lists of casualties and very good updates on what is going on in the war. If you don’t read his blog, you are missing a good read.
Code Red * Women for the Troops has a post on Gary Sinise’s lastest USO tour.
Seaspook Rants tells us about a Sailor You Should Know.
War on Terrorism
chezDiva has an ongoing memorial to the victims of September 11. It is an excellent series and such a good idea I wish I had thought of it myself. She is writes:
Why A Daily Memorial?
I don’t ever want to forget what America lost that day, I hope that the world never forgets. I will do whatever I can to keep the memory of those we lost alive. Therefore the first post of each new day at chezdiva.com will be dedicated to the memory of one of 2,977 the innocent lives that was lost on September 11th 2001.
Along the same theme Jody at In Spite of Everything has compiled reactions to the movie United 93 from the ladies of The Cotillion.
Jacques at Carry on America writes about Christopher Hitchens’ warning against Islamic Fundamentalism. She enjoys Hitchens’ style and gives a good summary of a speech he delivered earlier in the week. His warning and take on the situation we are in is well worth the read.
From My Position …. On the Way says We are Losing in Iraq, Just like We Lost Vietnam. He has a great post with quite a few stories of successes in Iraq, indicating civic pride and responsibility being taken on the part of the Iraqis. But it’s not in our news ….. go read what he has to say.
Red Hot Cuppa Politics has more information on the WMD’s that aren’t there.
Fascinating and troubling — because I think the biggest liars in history are those who willfully overlook the evidence we have, and have had, in order to score political points against a Republican President.
Woman Honor Thyself reports that the EU is encouraging the EU, US and Israel to ’steer’ Hamas into understanding that their violent ways are not a good thing. Steer? I don’t know, maybe they just need a hug.
The Median Sib posts about the Moussaoui verdict. Did he win? Does his verdict deminish the deaths of the 9/11 victims? Has America the will and the stomach to fight this war? Go over and add your opinion.
Politics
Periscope Journal writes about Winning the War at Home. He writes: ‘America is at war but the American people are more concerned with American Idol than with what our Marines are doing.’ Well worth the read, get on over there and read it.
Speaking of winning the war at home, Blue Crab Boulevard has an article about grossly misleading headlines. One of my personal favorite subjects. It’s all about the sound bites.
The Rolling Barrage has a rant on Islamic Fanaticism and the appeasers who excuse them because of whatever gripes they have, real or imagined, against the West.
Dadmanly discusses Washington Party Games
Leaning Straight Up reports on the latest protest of the Protester Shenanigans. She had protesters protesting her again.
Nathan at Church & State reports that a professor at Boston College resigns his position in protest of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice being invited to be this year’s commencement speaker.
Stuck on Stupid says Censure Carter.
Small Town Veteran evaluates the most recent scandal the progressives are trying to hang their collective hats on. The NSA has been accussed of Protecting the U.S. from Terrorism!
