On Hannity & Colmes tonight, Colmes comments that the recent events in Iraq are good news for the Bush Whitehouse.
My first thought was, Isn’t it good for America?
That tells you where their heads are on this whole thing.

They live in the moment, not once looking toward the future. That’s another reason they can’t understand GW - he has a vision and all they have are shades in the dark.
Very good take on the situation! They look at everything in terms of how it affects them or someone else politically - forget about what’s good for the country as a whole.
I listened to some nutjob in a restaurant going on and on about how it’s a “conspiracy.” I guess it’s just too much of a coincidence that we popped zarquawi (lack of caps on purpose), gained key intel, launched a huge push against the taliban, and Bush visits Iraq, right before election time. I just had to laugh.
I guess our President was holding on to all of this for the “right time?” This is the typical lefty response. If something reflects well upon conservatives (or at least their opposition), they just have to find a way to spin it as bad news.
It’s been “us” against “them” since Bush became president. The Left has the wrong target in its sights, which has lead them to missing the point of this war entirely.
There can never be good news for the country regarding Iraq. It’s just bizarre.
