I went out into the dinning area at work today to chit-chat for a few minutes with my employees. It was the usual conversation for a minute or two and then one lady asked me how my son is doing.
I started replying, but before I could say much she got to what she apparently was wondering. She asked, ‘How does it make you feel to hear about what happened to those soldiers?’.
This particular woman isn’t known for her tact and the question didn’t particularly bother me, but it obviously bothered the others sitting at the table.
Another one of my employees chastised her for asking. She hushed her. I started saying it wasn’t a problem and they all started talking at once, chastising the woman who asked the question and changing the subject.
Before I knew it they were talking about a shoe sale and my head was spinning. I was again impressed with their ability to side-step subjects that make them uncomfortable. They are very good at it.
As we continued to talk about shoes I became increasingly aware of the lump in my throat and the rage in my heart.
That rage has been sitting there for a while and it leaped to the forefront a couple of days ago when I read what those animal muslim jihadists did to those American Soldiers.
I went to my office but couldn’t concentrate on anything having to do with work. I found myself thinking of those Soldiers and what they went through.
I haven’t been able to get it out of my mind.
It’s outrageous that the media and the liberals are strangely silent about it. I heard a lot about the guy in wherever that our Soldiers are accused of killing. I saw pictures of him and pictures of people wailing and carrying-on over his body.
There was a long segment on the network news about that tonight.
Let the American people see what is being done to our Soldiers.
President Bush needs to tell the American people what happened to those Soldiers. He needs to let the people know what we are fighting and quit white-washing the actions of our enemies.
Send a CLEAR MESSAGE to our enemies.
I also think of those boys being accused of murder, being threatened with a death sentence. I almost can’t bear to think of what they are going through.
I saw one of the president’s advisers on TV tonight saying something to the effect that we are more civilized than the enemy and therefore more is expected of us. He said putting our Soldiers on trial for murder will show the world that we hold them to a higher standard.
That’s all well and good, but lets not use these Soldiers to prove a point.
That’s not the message we need to send.
The unrest in this country is the intense anger the people are feeling.
We are tired of being blamed for everything that is wrong in the world.
We are tired of being at war and not fighting the war.
We are tired of our Soldiers being put in harms way with their hands tied and with instructions to be sensitive to the enemy.
We don’t WANT sensitive Soldiers! We want Soldiers who are good Soldiers.
We are tired of the core democratic leaders spinning everything using sophomoric debate tactics to shut up any opposition.
We are tired of hearing the liberals give sympathy to muslim jihadists while finding fault with America, Americans and American Soldiers.
We are tired of hearing about Israel bombing Palestine while Palestine gets a pass on the horrors they commit.
We are tired of being chastised for mohammad cartoons while Jesus in Urine is praised as an object d’art.
We are tired of communists and socialists judging everything we do and say and trying to overtake our country.
We are tired of hearing from celebrities who think their fame and wealth translates into a superior understanding of world politics and warfare.
We don’t want the President apologizing for talking tough!
WE WANT A TOUGH PRESIDENT. We want the President to maintain the tough posture he had in the aftermath of 9/11.
The President needs to speak up and send a very clear message to the world. Tell the world that we will not be passive victims. We will not tolerate the continued mistreatment of our Soldiers.
What was done to those boys was an act of war in itself.
We need to send a clear message to the world that we will not tolerate this and there will be a reckoning.
Unleash the dogs of war and let it be done.
When the mutilated bodies of Tucker and Menchaca were found, the Soldiers could not immediately recover their bodies. The bodies were set up as a trap.
They had been tortured. Their eyes had been gouged out, their tongues and penises cut off. They had been mutilated and finally beheaded. They were not recognizable. DNA test have been ordered to positively identify them.
They died a horrible death in defense of their country. Doesn’t this deserve more than one day of brief news coverage?
17 heads were found in fruit baskets in the same area as the remains of these Soldiers.
Doesn’t this tell us who our enemy is? I think that’s something we should know.

Ptc. Thomas L. Tucker (right) was 25 years old. Pfc. Kristian Menchaca (left) was 23 years old.
Army Specialist David J. Babineau was killed in the attack that resulted in the capture of Tucker and Menchaca.

The liberals says our Soldiers are monsters. They aren’t. They are normal Americans from normal American homes with normal American families.

Where is our President who stood atop the rubble of the Twin Towers and issued a call for justice? He has been missing for some time now, and I hope he returns very soon. These p.c. contortions are making me sick.
Beth you are exactly right and I send bunches of hugs to you. Excellent post with true raw emotions that are so true. Yesterday, I just could not bring myself to post the details of their death, it upset me so much and I am still thinking about those boys along with being very disturbed inside. Prone to depression anyway, but this was so barbaric and awful in ways that we can’t even imagine someone being able to be that evil. I think that we should as you said unleach the dogs of war…and let us continue to kill these bastards…track them to every corner of this world. These evil killers have no mercy, remorse, feelings….they are straight out of hell as if the devil released them into society himself. I could go on and on…commenting on other points you made, but I agree with them all. We are all tired of this rhetoric, actions and behavior from ones that seem not to care. What happened to these boys need to be reminded to ones repeatedly, to know just what we are up against. I keep praying for the families, their friends, fellow soldiers,….it is just heart breaking. Sorry for going on so long with this comment. God Bless you and your family.
Grieving Over the Loss…
Condolences to the family members of Pfc Tucker and Pfc Menchaca; also condolences to the family and friends of Spc. David J. Babineau, 25, of Springfield, Mass., who was the driver killed, that was with them.

Moral highground…
In the end, relative to the moral position of our enemy, the highground is a very short step indeed.
Turn loose the dogs of war….
Rich and Suzie - I couldn’t agree with both of you more! Suzie, I also haven’t been able to post on it. I just couldn’t. It has been so upsetting and I don’t even personally know the men. I can’t get what they went through out of my mind. But we are supposed to feel that way for the muslims and forget about our Soldiers.
I don’t get it.
We all feel the same way, Beth.
At least I know I do…
I wish you could have seen the President today. I think you too would have been proud of him as much as I was. (The following is from part of a post I did today.)

Question:
Chancellor Schüssel, the European public is deeply worried by these secret prisoners that the CIA has been transporting, is transporting through Europe. Did you get assurance today from the President that this is not going to happen anymore, that there won’t be anymore in the kidnapping of terror suspects in Europe, that this is a thing of the past?
And to the President, Mr. President, you said this is “absurd,” but you might be aware that in Europe the image of America is still falling, and dramatically in some areas. Let me give you some numbers. In Austria, in this country only 14 percent of the people believe that the United States, what they are doing is good for peace; 64 percent think that it is bad. In the United Kingdom, your ally, there are more citizens who believe that the United States policy under your leadership is helping to destabilize the world than Iran. So my question to you is, why do you think that you’ve failed so badly to convince Europeans, to win their heads and hearts and minds? Thank you.
Answer:
PRESIDENT BUSH… (Note: The president said these words in a fairly strong voice.) Well, yes, I thought it was absurd for people to think that we’re more dangerous than Iran. It’s a — we’re a transparent democracy. People know exactly what’s on our mind. We debate things in the open. We’ve got a legislative process that’s active. Look, people didn’t agree with my decision on Iraq, and I understand that. For Europe, September the 11th was a moment; for us, it was a change of thinking. I vowed to the American people I would do everything to defend our people, and will. I fully understood that the longer we got away from September the 11th, more people would forget the lessons of September the 11th. But I’m not going to forget them. And, therefore, I will be steadfast and diligent and strong in defending our country.
I don’t govern by polls, you know. I just do what I think is right. And I understand some of the decisions I made are controversial. But I made them in the best interest of our country, and I think in the best interest of the world. I believe when you look back at this moment, people will say, it was right to encourage democracy in the Middle East. I understand some people think that it can’t work. I believe in the universality of freedom; some don’t. I’m going to act on my beliefs so long as I’m the President of the United States. Some people say, it’s okay to condemn people for — to tyranny. I don’t believe it’s okay to condemn people to tyranny, particularly those of us who live in the free societies.
And so I understand, and I’ll try to do my best to explain to the Europeans that, on the one hand, we’re tough when it comes to the war on terror; on the other hand, we’re providing more money than every before in the world’s history for HIV/AIDS on the continent of Africa. I’ll say, on the one hand, we’re going to be tough when it comes to terrorist regimes who harbor weapons. On the other hand, we’ll help feed the hungry. I declared Darfur to be a genocide because I care deeply about those who have been afflicted by these renegade bands of people who are raping and murdering.
And so I will do my best to explain our foreign policy. On the one hand, it’s tough when it needs to be; on the other hand, it’s compassionate. And we’ll let the polls figure out — people can say what they want to say. But leadership requires making hard choices based upon principle and standing — (President’s mike goes out) — and that’s how I’m going to continue to lead my country.
Thank you for your question.
CHANCELLOR SCHÜSSEL… Let me add — let me add something. I think Austria is really a good example to show that America has something to do with freedom, democracy, prosperity, development. Don’t forget I was born in ‘45. At that time, Vienna and half of Austria laid in ruins. And without the participation of America, what fate would have Europe? Where would be Europe today? Not the peaceful, prosperous Europe like we love it and where we live.
Nothing — I will never forget that America fed us with food, with economic support. The Marshall Plan was an immense aid and incentive to develop industry, agriculture, tourism. And by the way, I said it to the President, the Marshall Fund is still working in Austria. It’s now transformed into a kind — in a fund for research and development — still working.
The American people, at that time, the American government invested billions of dollars in Europe to develop the former enemy. And now we are a partner. So I think it’s grotesque to say that America is a threat to the peace in the world compared with North Korea, Iran, other countries…
Super duper hug to you! People in my office don’t hold back talking about stuff, because for some reason with the SGM being in Afghanistan, my worry isn’t suppose to be as much?!
But when I teared up about 4 times yesterday when the murder was brought up, people started to realize it doesn’t matter where my husband is — I am part of a family spread all over the world right now. I wish they’d given you the space to answer her question — and to be honest, I’d rather talk about it then be hushed. It’s like an elephant in the office sometimes. I want to rage up and down the street outside my house throwing a temper tantrum the likes have never been seen before. I want to personally rip OBL’s head off and stuff it … okay … you get the point. I’m angry and in pain for the loss of more family members.

The blogosphere is full of Improper Reads….
I feel bad that these young men were sent to die for W and Cheney’s oil war - let’s be truly respectful of these brave young men and women and bring them home now. Send the Bush twins, Mary Cheney and the children of this lapdog Congress to fight in their place - at least they would be more deserving of this horrific unending horror show that is going on in the name of freedom and democracy.
Hate breeds hate. If you supporters of the war truly think these people hate us (and I know you do!) you may want to pick up a history book some time and try to figure out why they hate us, instead of lapping up whatever rhetoric the right wing pundits and administration spewing that day. Do you really think this started with 9/11? Do you really think 9/11 happened because they hate our freedom?
If we truly want peace and democracy to spread, you can’t do it by killing innocent civilians. Hate breeds hate. You hate me so I hate you, so you hate me so , I hate you…detect a pattern there? Break that cycle and this war will end - otherwise, well you may want to look into what the fastest growing religion in the world is…give you a hint: it’s not Christianity!
If you want to continue a pattern of hate, kill, hate, kill, etc. well, the numbers aren’t in our favour people. I guarantee that there will be two or three more extremists that pop up with each one you kill (his son, his daughter, his brother, sister, cousin). Hate breeds hate and when people are fighting on their own home turf, they have a particular brand of hate on their side that we just can’t match. You’re upset at what was done to our soldiers? Well, imagine that happening to your son or daughter in your own back yard? Nope, whatever hate you’re feeling - it doesn’t come close to that hate that comes with having foreigners kill your family on your own turf.
Let’s bring these brave young people home. Enough’s enough - let Bush and Cheney send their kids to fight this debacle. Too many of our poor and middle class kids are being offered up for cannon fodder in a war that cannot be won simply by trying to “shoot all the bad guys”. With each dead insurgent their hate grows and with each dead American, our hate grows - which is just what Bush wants. It’s also what Osama wants. They can both go to hell as far as I’m concerned.
Peace to all. (I know, I’m a left-wing, pinko faggot, but think about what I said anyway).

Great post Beth, looks like you hit a sore spot with the usual assholes… Good, that means you are doing it the RIGHT way…
Awesome…
The same happened right after 9/11. They wanted the news channels and the papers to stop showing pictures and they certainly didn’t want the video of the people jumping to be aired. It’s what happened. It’s ugly, but it happened. Ignoring it doesn’t change it one bit. Yes, seeing it caused anger and pain, grief and rage, but those are normal, real human reactions to this attack on our homeland and it’s the normal human reaction to what happened to those two soldiers.
Oh, and beth, my prayers are with you and your family and all our military!
Beth, this was an excellent post. I read it to Warren and he felt the same way. I totally agree with you. I am SO sick of listening to the criticism of our soldiers. I don’t think they should kill innocents just for the sake of killing but unless we walk in their shoes we do not know what they have to deal with every day. Maybe we should draft some of those ‘Hollywood’ folks and send them over to fight. Maybe they would sing a different tune!!
BTW, I have had people ask me stupid questions like your employee asked you. I just chalk it up to ignorance!
Love ya.

My anger over what happened to these men is so great I cannot even begin to express it. My anger of the lack of coverage and outrage is equally great! It is beyond my wildest imaginings that people can do this sort of thing to any living creature, let alone another human being.
Your post is absolutely right on target. Our Military should not have to fight with one hand tied behind their back. They should be allowed to do their jobs and fight to win. The liberals did screw us up in Vietnam, and my husband, a retired Warrant Officer was in Vietnam while Kerry was back in the states moaning and groaning and being his usual obnoxious and cowardly self. I absolutely hate that man, and Murtha as well. I don’t like feeling hatred towards fellow Americans, but I no longer consider these people to be Americans. They disgust me; they are traitors and should be treated as such.
An update on Jihadi terrorism…
…
The mililtary has put itself in the unenviable position of needing to maintain it’s “standards” by finding their own people “guilty.” What if they are ALL innocent? It looks like the Haditha thing is fizzling, and when you look at the details of the Hamdania thing, those men too are innocent — the NCIS really screwed up, and the evidence will prove the simplicity of what really happened. And the four Airborne soldiers just charged, something’s fishy there too… Anything the military does now is fishy. And the Congress wants to have hearings — so they’ve decided that the Marines are guilty, and what is the Corps going to do to prevent it from happening again. And the President instead of standing up for our troops, that HE sent to war, he doesn’t say, I can’t comment like he does for Karl Rove, he says, If they’re guilty, they’ll be punished — not, they’re presumed innocent, but if they’re guilty! Disgraceful — if i was in the military i would get out as soon as possible, unless they started assigning a lawyer to every two service personnel. Don’t go to war without your lawyer!
Why should the NYT think we’re at war if the President doesn’t let the military fight like we’re at war!!!

Hey Beth! AMEN to your post!! You said exactly what I have been feeling! Why are we making excuses for these thugs? My husband is still recovering from critical injuries of an IED from April 19, 2005! These cowards work alongside our troops by day and plant roadside IEDs at night…and we can’t do a damn thing about it! When will America fight back? All this prosecution of our Marines makes me furious! Don’t call in the pit bulls if you don’t want someone to get bitten! Soldiers are not cops. I salute you for speaking up. I think the news every night should SHOW the mangled bodies of our killed and wounded. Folks in my home town have no CLUE as to our 18,000 wounded…and now the news wants to call them “injured” instead of wounded! I WATCHED the beheadings on Al-Jazeera. I remember the civilian contractors dragged through the streets and burned…then hung up for everyone to see…and the Iraqis cheering. I know how our two soldiers suffered. I know what our soldiers see everyday. When will AMERICA allow our troops to fight back? If they are not allowed to go in and fight, then we have no hope of a future for Iraq. Thanks for letting me vent my feelings. Janis
Amen. I’m a Blue Star Dad of a Marine in Al-Anbar province right now.
I’m tired of apologizing for winning this war. Let’s finish this thing now and end it for our children’s sake. I’m not terribly concerned about the ACLU’s sensitivities - nor are our enemies.

The Most Upsetting Thing I’ve Read…
Tears of RAGE were flowing, as I tried to tell my husband the gist of this post. I was literally shaking with anger and frustration over the message from this soldiers. “All of this was in response to me asking him some questions about what they are…
Damn straight. Those libruls and commies have just about taken over this whole dang country, and now, in just the last six years, we’ve gone from sitting pretty to circling the drain hole of the toilet.
Uh, what’s that you say? Republicans control the White House, both chambers of the Legislature and the Supreme Court? Oh.
Well, we good neocons are firmly in control of the direction this country is headed in, and we’re not going to take it any more!
We’re tired of being allowed to mortgage the finances of future generations by cutting the taxes on the people who benefit the most from this country (that would be the rich) by one trillion dollars while the rest of us get some little $400 check that just dissappears in increased state taxes when the states have to take over the cost of road-building and educating our youngsters and all that stuff.
We’re tired of being told that it’s not OK to “dissappear” people–even our own citizens–and torture them at will once we’ve gone through the formality of labelling them a “terrorist”. That’s the sort of thing they do in third world despotic regimes. And if they do it, then by golly, so should we!
And we’re tired of being blamed for the problems in Iraq. They’re not our fault. They’re the fault of the Democrats who didn’t stop us from ignoring everyone else’s advice and warnings and and just going in understaffed and underprepared, and who are now saying things that encourage and comfort all three of the jihadists in Iraq who know what any Americans are saying about the situation and who give a hoot.
We’re also tired of those military top brass like Eric Shinseki meddling in how the war is to be fought. What do those Generals know about fighting a war, anyway?? George Dubya Bush has watched more than a few war films on TV, you know. And besides that, he’s never wrong about anything. He gets his information and orders from the Man Upstairs, you know. He’s a humble man. So all those uppity five star generals need learn some humility. They need to sit down, shut up, and start taking their orders from a man who knows what he’s doing.
Basically, we’re sick and tired of wrecking this country, and having nobody stop us from doing it!
And we’re going to go down in history not as the “Me Generation” (which is what we used to be called) but as the “Worst Generation”. This is because we are the exact opposites in every way from the “Greatest Generation”.
The “Greatest Generation” fought and won a *real* war called World War II. They did it by deploying 6.1 MILLION military personnel to go ensure that victory would be absolute and decisive.
They also built the Interstate Highway System along with much of the rest of the infrastructure of this country. They funded Social Security for their parents (even though their parents hadn’t paid anything into the system), vastly increased the education of the middle class through the GI bill, put a man on the moon, and basically built this country up to be by far the greatest country this world had ever seen.
Of course, all this required taxes that ran as high as 91% on the wealthiest Americans. You see, those old farts were into this old-fashioned concept called “sacrifice”, heh-heh. What a bunch of commies and libruls.
So what about us? To heck with good governance. We prefer “starving the beast”. So we’re busy looting the Social Security fund that our parents built up for fun and (private) profit (let the kids fend for themselves), we refuse to pay to keep a fresh coat of paint on the bridges our parents built from the groud up (too expensive), and when it comes time to fight a war, we send the minimum possible number of troops that will allow us to have a short, temporary, partial victory, some nice photo-ops, and then beat a hasty retreat as the country we just “regime changed” falls back into the hands of our enemies. But hey, it allows us to cut taxes, right?
The common good? The betterment of society? What’re you, some kind of librul? Me, I’ve got a 6,300-pound Hummer parked in my four-car gee-rage. That’s 6,300 reasons why we neocons have got it right and the Greatest Generation were just a bunch of suckers, duped by socialist dreamers into thinking about anybody other than good old Number One. And anyone who has an issue with that can just have a nice little conversation with my Glock 9mm, because you know–just like the people in most Arabic cultures–I have a fetish around guns and the idea of using them on people I disagree with.
I am sick of all sorts of things, such as stupid bleeding heart liberals and how it looks like our country is spiralling into hell and that we are going to be taken over by the democrats (aka:communists/socialists). I am sick that the politicians are the ones running the war and not the military. I am sick that there is no accounting for what happened to Privates Menchaca and Tucker. I am sick that all the media cares about are the terrorists rights and how they are being treated. I’m terrified that Hillary Clinton is going to win the presidency and I truly believe that she and that man she is married to have three sixes on their bodies somewhere. I think that anyone who sympathizes with the terrorists should be arrested for treason and either sentenced to life in prison or death. I am really bothered by what left wing idiots say. I am really hurt and cry about how awful President Bush has been treated. How dare that idiot Jessica Simpson not see him when he wanted to talk to her about her supposed reading program she was involved in. Who in the hell does she think she is- she is just some stupid, vapid blonde thing that is the epitome of superficiality. Then there was some song writer/singer who demanded that Bush not use his song during his campaign for re-election. The ugliness has gotten so out of control, I can’t even describe how it makes me feel. It started when the Clintons started running for President in the early nineties and I remember I believe it was Ladies Home Journal who had cookie contests between Barbara Bush and that woman and the magazine said Barbara Bushes’ cookies were horrible compared to that woman’s recipe. I doubt if Hillary ever baked a cookie in that horrible existence she lives. She’s too busy ruining people who get in her way. I just don’t believe that people actually would give her the time of day with all their lying and deceiving and killing they did. Anyway, this hurtful ugliness makes me sad and not want to live here anymore. It makes me ashamed to be a citizen of this country. It makes me ashamed that soldiers in the past gave their lives just so the ugly, stupid liberals can ruin this country. I’m tired of the hypocricy of politics. Why is it alright for Democrats to do crimes and barely get a headline and a Republican gets caught driving drunk and heaven forbid, the Katie Courics and Diane Sawyers and Dan Rathers drag it on for years in the news. Both Democrats and Republicans are crooks and if I had my way, I would get rid of all of them and start brand new with regular citizens meaning of middle class, not rich. All my teachers in school say you have to be rich to be in politics and everyone knows rich people have a different set of laws they live by. They aren’t like regular folks. I guess I’ll stop ranting. I just wanted to vent and to say how the deaths of Menchaca and Tucker has really affected me. I say prayers for them and I still cry thinking about them. It is really sad. This whole world is really sad and I’m really scared about it.
