As a Vietnam Vet, I hope maybe that country will become our solid friend sixty years from the end of conflict. As I go to the grave, it seems like the two years I spent there were 80% of my life.

You're right Seaspook - can you just imagine what the world would be like with us? We aren't nearly as hated around the world as the left would like us to think we are.

Beth,

My Dad also fought the 'Japs'. Unfortuately younger generations of Japanese, South Koreans, Germans, and most definitely the French have forgotten or now belittle the wonderful things this wonderful country has done for them and the world. I wonder if any of these people ever wonder what would happen to the rest of the world even today if the USA were not here. Many countries currency is tied to the US Dollar and most of the world's economy is dependent upon the well being of the US and none will admit it but Canada and most of Europe enjoy the good life because they are able complacently let their Armies wither because they have the USA security blanket to protect them in their cozy life.
