At first glance the marriage of 51-year-old Brit Jane Felix-Browne to 27-year-old Saudi Omar Ossama bin Laden might seem a mismatch. I mean, she’s old enough to be his mother, not to mention her new father-in-law is Osama bin Laden.

But when you look beneath the surface just a little you see they have more in common than you might notice right at first. For instance, she’s been married five times times and he’s allowed to have five wives (she’s wife number two). He’s from Saudi Arabia, she travels to Saudi Arabia several times a year for cosmetic surgery and treatment for multiple sclerosis. She has claimed that her father was muslim even though his name was George Hanson. Her new husband is muslim. One of her son’s is 27-years-old and her bin Laden is 27-years old. She has changed her name several times. She was born Paula Joy Hanson, changed her name to Zaina Mohamad al Sabah during her arabic incarnation and the name Jane Felix-Browne has resurfaced throughout her adult life. bin Laden probably wishes he could change his name so easily.

See, there’s all sorts of commonalities with the pair.

The new Mrs. bin Laden is back in London trying to get her new husband a visa to visit England. She says while they are apart they talk on the phone and computer 7 to 16 hours per day (when do they work?).

She says her husband is a kind and devout man. When his father was expelled from Saudi Arabia for his extremism, Mrs. Felix-Browne’s husband went with is father to the mountains of Afghanistan to work with the Taliban in building training camps and preparing for war against the West, America in particular. Mrs. bin Laden claims that her husband parted ways with his father because he disapproved of his father’s violent tactics. However, others have said that Omar was not so much concerned with the destruction cause by the attacks on 9/11 as he was angry that his father’s tactics resulted in the destruction of the Taliban.

Regardless of the reasons for the estrangement, the most recent Mrs. bin Laden tells us that her husband says his father is a kind man. Even more, she says that with a straight face and in all sincerity.

Jane Felix-Browne took on the title of ‘Lady’. There doesn’t seem to be any documentation that she actually holds that title in the British sense of the word. Well, in the American sense of the word either for that matter.

She is hopeful that her husband can come to Britain soon on visa, but admits it’s a little difficult for him to travel through airports. His name sets off all kinds of alarm bells. I wonder if the first Mrs. Omar Ossama bin Laden will mind if she just moves in with them in Saudi Arabia??
