Racism, Ron Paul and the Left
I ran across an interesting article by Bob Parks (Outside the Wire) about an interaction he had with KosKids over some past quotes of Ron Paul that might indicate he had some racist tendencies. The Ron Paul comments in question are these:
“We don’t think a child of 13 should be held responsible as a man of 23. That’s true for most people, but black males age 13 who have been raised on the streets and who have joined criminal gangs are as big, strong, tough, scary and culpable as any adult and should be treated as such.”
If you left out the word “black”, I think there could well be a majority of Americans who agreed with that.
Bob Parks suggested that if a Republican candidate had uttered those words he’d be drummed out of office for being a racist. Yes, I know that Ron Paul calls himself a Republican, but we all know that he shares almost none of the values of the right and he’s a darling of the KosKid set.
Parks goes on to outline a few of the hypocrisies of the left in regards to racism. A few obvious examples being their treatment of any Black people who do not tow the party line (ie: Colin Powell, Dr. Condoleezza Rice, Clarence Thomas and any other Black person you can think of that isn’t a card carrying socialist), the assumption of the left that Blacks can’t compete on a level playing field and therefore continue to need Affirmative Action after all these years, and Senator Robert Byrd (does more need to be said about THAT). Then, of course, there are those like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton whose very careers and wealth are dependent on the continued victimization of anyone of African American heritage. To say they have a vested interest in keeping Black people in a one -man-down position is an understatement. They will not, can not, accept that the times have changed.
Its a very thought provoking article, go read it
