We all know that we live in a very litigious society. Everybody sues for everything. Except me. My husband and I were laughing earlier that we just aren’t the type of people who get compensated for things. The conversation started because of someone I know that makes a living suing people. This isn’t someone I know well, just someone I know of. She does things like takes an umbrella into a well-known department store and lets water drip on the floor, falls down then claims negligence on the part of the store. Those kinds of accident claims cost us all more money in the long run. The store has to pay someone like her off and they pass the cost on to the consumer.
That sort of things irritates me because it makes it more difficult for people who have legitimate claims to be properly and rightfully compensated. If you have a reasonable claim than you have to jump through all sorts of hoops to get the compensation that is due you. Thats thanks in part to the lady with the wet umbrella who makes false claims!
