This video is excerpts from the new Celtic Thunder show. I suppose Celtic Thunder is the masculine answer to Celtic Woman. Heh! I like the bald headed guys songs (I don’t know his name … yet). I’m looking forward to seeing the whole show.

Do not insult my dear CELTIC WOMAN! This is not the male answer to them. This is pure trash, not even real trash, contrived trash. That song “She” makes me cringe in disgust. And i don’t think this is from the producers of Celtic Woman. I think one of the former folks involved in the group attempted to make a male version of Celtic Woman and in my opinion failed miserably. On Amazon I see the group THE HIGH KINGS listed as coming from the creators of Celtic Woman. And the musical director of them is also from Celtic Woman - the phenomenal David Downes.
Wow! Celtic Woman must be the most awesome group EVER if they make Celtic Thunder look like trash! LOL!! Each of these men brings a unique, gorgeous voice together to make an incredible sound. “She” like the other couple covers is just a cover, silly!…and might I add that it is done BETTER than the original version. Their musical director is “Grammy-nominated musical director, Phil Coulter, who has written hits for Elvis Presley and the Bay City Rollers, and performed with Van Morrison, Tom Jones, and The Rolling Stones, according to a statement” (quote from LiveDaily). Yeah, you’re right…sounds pretty lame…NOT! I’m completely smitten.
Yikes! Saw this on WNED last night. Real Celtic music is so beautiful it makes you cry– this just made me sneer. You could go to any 5 pubs in Ireland & come up with a better 5 singers– no passion, no fire, no substance. Just packaging. And even that was lame– the set looked embarassingly ugly with all the primary-color lights on at once for the finale. Very unprofessional. There should have been some emotional impact when the bagpipes came on for the finale too, but it falls flat.Just before that, all 5 singers reach a crescendo, in passable harmony yet, & that should have delivered a thrill too– but the moment is lost, as the band chugs on like a juggernaut. No pacing, subtlety, or atmosphere. whoever the musical director is, he fails dismally at exploiting these moments, or exploring the nuances & scope of the material. Umm– not that the song selections give you much to work with, though. Sad all around, really. Just sad. I can only hope this phenomenon dies quickly, to give room for some celtic music worthy of the name.
I don’t know who you are listening too but Celtic Thunder was awesome!!!!! I don’t care for the women at all. To each his own I guess.
OK people… How can you say they’re trash? They’re great. They didn’t promise to have all-Irish music. Did you see the 14-yr-old? If any of you who dislike them watch American Idol and think they’re great, the kid puts them to shame. I like both Celtic Woman and Celtic Thunder. What was wrong with ‘She’? The only thing I didn’t like was his white shoes. And the swaying guitarists in kilts made me choke back a laugh. It is by the same producer, Patrick Stone on WHYY said so.
The bald guy’s name is George (I think). He’s not greatly physically attractive, but his voice makes him so.
The person that said that Celtic Thounde is trash is tras themselfs. They have no tast in music. I think that Celtic Thounder is great. I just saw the PBS spechel. I think that Ryon is the cutest. So to all that hate Cektic Thiunder you have no tast.

Okay first thing is , they are amazing , Celtic thunder is orginal , they arent a boyband , they putt everyone to shame , and you cannot find them in a pub anywheere , they are talented artist. Celtic Woman are just as good , but different. Guys and Girls Voice do have different limits, this was a refreshing concert, make us all look at what true talent is. i hope thier songs are downloadable , i want them all on my ipod
LOL!!! I had to laugh at Aodhan’s comment. Yeah, Phil Coulter doesn’t know what he’s doing, right?…HE’S PHIL COULTER! And he delivered!! I’m going to make a really good guess here and say you are a MAN…a jealous man! Celtic Thunder has gone straight to the top on Amazon…#1 in Celtic music, #1 for British Isles, and #1…that’s #1 for ALL MUSIC! And this is all BEFORE their album’s release! Yeah, you’re right no one is interested! LOL!!!! Thanks for the laugh! Take it from a woman - we are swooning, we have their songs stuck in our heads, we Tivo them, we tape them, we are preordering their Cd’s and DVD’s, we google their interviews, we can’t get enough! With the female population and the secure male population recognizing them for the amazing talents they all are individually and together, they’ll do okay without the 5 men out there who can’t handle them!
Please Leigh and Aodhan…don’t be such man-haters. Just because you like Celtic Women (who wouldn’t?), shouldn’t diminish the talent of the 5 gentlemen in Celtic Thunder. I’m from the States, and while they might not be your cup of tea, I promise you that Celtic Thunder is winning America over. And before you snap back at me with some witless comment about American musical tastes, take a Midol and remember that even though the UK gave the world the Beatles, the Stones and the Who, the USA gave the world Elvis. And the Beatles, Stones and Who, were heavily influenced by Elvis. Their success wouldn’t have been possible without him. So, bottom line, Americans know what good sounds like, and, right now, Celtic Thunder sounds just fine.
So do Celtic Women. Don’t be a hater.
wow. I just wondered what this was coming to town. And now I know. Basically a moneymaking machine. Specifically designed for the average woman to go OMG! he can sing! and DANCE, and he’s sooooo CUTE.

I wish they wouldn’t keep having it on tv every night as I am missing my other programming because I have to watch it. I think they are absolutely wonderful, all of them. All you people who criticize have no taste in music at all.
Celtic Thunder’s okay, but the local PBS outlet played them in what seemed like an endless loop last week as St. Patrick’s day approached, interrupted by pledge drives. But if people in Ireland like that sort of thing, more power to them.
Ok it is slickly packaged, but wonderful…What great guys, would have like a bit more Ireland but loved it just the same. Bought not only the DVE but CD. I think at lease 3 of them will be big stars. Keep going guys. Gately

BOY ,WHOEVER THAT PERSON USING THAT NAME ‘”AODHA” really cant judge good music or singers if all she hears is pub music. the only thing he or she dident knock down was living.they were all good looking ,sang beautiful ,had the people in the palm of their hands. best thing out so far. get a life will you…
I am quite perplexed! At last when someone actually sings, some would call it trash! I always wonder why some of the newest singers simply shout (the louder the better) and not even on pitch! These new stars are showing everyone what it is like to really sing. I loved the Celtic Women and feel that this is such a great job by the Celtic Men. As for Phil Coulter, he is a genius. If you would ever set your hand to writing music and lyrics you might find out what a great talent he really is. I can say this as I am a song writer myself. One of my songs went to #2 across the nation (in its field). Please don’t ask me what it was………it was more than 50 years ago, so I am not promoting it or anything else.
JUST A NOTE,I TAPED IT WHEN IT WAS ON PBS. IHAVE DVR I RE- TAPED ON MY VCR OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I PUT THE TAPE ON ALL DAY LONG .IT REALLY MAKES YOU FEEL GREAT .WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO ALL THE GOOD SPECIALS THE USE TO HAVE ON TV. HOW COME THEY ARE NOT ON SOME OF THOSE LATE SHOWS? THEY NEED SOMETHING NEW TO TALK ABOUT. SAME CRAP ON ALL THE SHOWS ALL THE TIME..THEY SHOULD HAVE MORE INTERVIEWS. THESE GUYS ARE GREAT..
Ok, so they’re not the best singers EVER in the WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD but OMG Celtic Thunder can rock my world any day. I’m in love… and yes, they are brilliantly packaged. That’s just good business. So much merchandise on the market is sloppy and hastily put together. Celtic Thunder is sharp- they sound good and they look good. It’s called ENTERTAINMENT for a reason. I don’t want or need reality when I sit back to relax at night. I want five attractive Celtic men (ok- four men and one soon to be man) with great voices singing to me (and sexy accents to boot.)
I’m nearly 40 and I’d put their poster on my wall, with a big kiss mark for Ryan. *thud*

Phil Coulter has put together a captivating mix of talent in Celtic Thunder. The ears of the world are blasted and puking by head-banging, shouting-your-guts-out noise that today’s artists market as music. This new group covers a wide genre of music that highlights the specific talents of George, Keith, Ryan, Paul, and Damian. Their voices blend in such a way that one’s spirit soars and loop-de-loops in the clouds.
They put on a spectacular show and are their star has only just begun to rise here in the STATES! We’re hungry for REAL entertainment and cheer anyone who delivers like Celtic Thunder.
Each great member of this group is marvelous in their own right; one isn’t better than the other. The age differences, backgrounds, life experiences, and personalities place each guy on equal footing with each other. Their longevity will depend on how well they handle success. If they keep their values, remain real and humble, avoid the pitfalls of too much booze, drugs, and groupies (gold-digging women), and use their fame and fortune to STAND for GOOD, they’ll be blessed to be around for a long time to inspire and entertain this tired, chaotic world.
They make me proud to have Scots/Irish blood in my veins.

I just saw Celtic Thunder last night (8-3-08) on local PBS station and I was completely captivated. The musical selection was great and the men were good looking and extremely talented. I loved all the guys, but me absolute favorite was Damian (the 14 year old). What w voice!!!. My next favorite was George and I thought Paul was sexy (though I did not like his white shoes). Also, I loved his version of “SHE”. I think I’ll purchase their CD and I will DVR the show the next time it’s on. Oh, by the way, I’m not a twenty-something. I’m a 52 year old, still sexy BLACK WOMAN and I know good music and talent when I see and hear it. Keep up the good work Celtic Thunder!!!.
P.S. I also loved Celtic Woman when I saw it on PBS and I have watched it many times since. Both groups are talented in their own right. Thank goodness there really is good music to listen to in the world.
I watched 3hrs of Celtic Thunder on WHYY/Philadelphia last night and was totally captivated. I’d seen them a few other times on our WHYY/PBS station, but last night totally blew me away (and I’m a 62-yr-old woman), so I called in to get two tickets to see them at our Wachovia Center on 10/25/08! All I want to listen to now is their music (plus that of Celtic Woman). I’m like a teen wanting to see Miley Cyrus (fav of my granddaughters)! And that adorable Damian (the 15-yr-old) is definitely the “IRISH ELVIS”! They are ALL so hot! It’s amazing that they’ve only been together as a group for less than a year — singing solo or as a group, they’re electrifying. Each’s voice is a tad different, and they blend so well together. I’ll probably never get to Ireland (lifelong desire of mine: I’m Irish / ancestors from County Kerry & County Cork), but will be in my glory seeing them 10/25!!!
I agree, from the very first moment I saw them on tv I thought, “They are trying way too hard to look like Celtic Woman.” and their name proves it. I will say they do have great voices, but I cannot say they are as good as CW. From just about all of their songs, Celtic Thunder, (in my opinion) are too into themselves. They even took a song from CW… Caledonia. I have to say, Celtic Woman is so much better… Celtic Thunder will NEVER be as good as Celtic Woman, and will never be on CW’s level of entertainment. Celtic Woman has been on the #1 record charts for years… can celtic thunder say that?
I just saw Celtic Thunder tonight on my PBS Channel. They are just awsome. You can’t compare them to Celtic Women - men and women don’t sing the same. Both are wonderful in their own ways. Celtic Thunder has such wonderful harmony - something missing from too many who call them self singers today. They prove that they actually have talent and I can’t wait to see them again.
I think their awesome!!! I’m in love with at least three of them and to call them trash is crazy. They have beautiful voices and I see something beautiful in each one of the boys faces. I love it when their on PBS. I listen to them sing every day. I have the dvd and the cd. I can’t wait ’till they come to Los Angeles so I can see them in person.
I have watched Celtic Thunder on PBS too many times to count.
My husband and I saw them on Saturday night,the second night of their 50 city tour. The voices in person are fabulous.
My husband had never seen the PBS show, and I wasn’t sure what his reaction would be. He LOVED it, and immediately ordered the two CDs and the DVD. If you have a chance to see the show live,do not miss it!
The people who have dissed Celtic Thunder are obviously not prone to hearing good music. More so that they cannot recognize it. I haven’t heard Celtic Women but Celtic Thunder was the most AMAZING concert I have ever been to. The 16 year old’s name is Damian McGinty. Keith Harkin is the blond. The bald man is George Donaldson. Until you’ve seen them live, (including all of the amazing jokes and theatrics) you really can’t say much. They are the most genial group. Keith Harkin wrote the song Lauren & I and all the rest are covers. They are on tour in the US right now. They are from Dublin, Ireland. They are also all very beautiful and talented.
p.s. Joe. Celtic Thunder does all COVERS i.e. Caledonia. and Celtic Women can’t be that much better. They aren’t even the same gender so you comparing them to CW is ridiculous. Celtic Thunder is just like any other IRISH band. Hence Celtic. They wanted to make it eye catching. They are amazing.
