China: Beijing Olympic Torch Relay is Great Success!

Chinese Olympic Committee

Just when I’ve been hearing how the United States feeds people what they are supposed to think from people who say they haven’t got the freedom to speak openly even while they are openly speaking …. I see a press release from China’s official Olympics website.

According the the Chinese, the Olympic torch relay is going fantastically! Its being warmly received and there is strong worldwide support of the relay and the Beijing Olympics.

Under the theme of “Journey of Harmony,” the Beijing Olympic Torch Relay started its worldwide journey on April 1, 2008. The sacred flame has so far passed through Almaty in Kazakhstan, Istanbul in Turkey, St. Petersburg in Russia and London in Britain. People along the Torch Relay route have extended the flame a warm welcome and the relay is proceeding successfully as planned.

Ain’t propaganda a wonderful thing. Unfortunately for the Chinese, it doesn’t work so well in the society we now live in. They have a bit of a hard time holding an event in front of the whole world while spreading their own form of propaganda. It has to be a bit confusing for them.

After discussing the enormously enthusiastic reception the Olympic Torch has received in city after city throughout the world, they do acknowledge that there have been a very few “pro-Tibet independence” activists who have made unsuccessful attempts to ruin it for everyone else.

The press release states that the Chinese strongly condemn the attempts of anyone who tries to condemn China for their human rights violations.

Read the entire press release here.

I believe the western media are as bias and manipulative as the media in China. I believe the pro-Tibetans outsiders are as foolish as the people who said the Olympic torch relay are a successful one. I believe the China government and the exiled Tibet government are undergoing a fierce fight. The exiled Tibet government, apparently has successfully obtained popular vote from the western world. However, if the western world has no benefits in opposing China, I don’t think they would even give a damn. Are the human rights in China really that a concern for that many non Tibetan protesters? If no powerful force behind the media spending huge money in the campaign to make sure you hear everything about China is a “NO! No!”, will you give a shit to what is going on in China. But the fact is, the “facts” about China and the human rights issues may not be the real “facts”. Many countries have bad human rights. Even in this United States, does the government have perfect human rights? Do we hear that local police get drop of charges for unreasonable use of force on the blacks? Did we hear thousands and thousands of Iraq people got killed after their invasion by the Americans claiming the invasion was to save the people in Iraq from the then oppressive government? Who has the right to talk about human rights and condemning other countries of their human rights. Only the people of their governments have the right to do so. Let the people of their country take care of their business. So do the people of China and that of the Tibet. If you want to help, be fair. Otherwise, you would be just a whipping hand of “someone”.
