Kailash ‘Kalau’ Singh is from the village of Chatav outside the holy city of Varanasi. He is 63-years-old and the father of seven daughters. He has gone for 35 years without bathing apparently in an attempt to have a son. Read about it below and see his photo.
One of Singh’s neighbors, Madhusudan, says that a seer told Kalau years ago that if he didn’t take a bath, he would be blessed with a male child. It seems that many Indians prefer sons for financial reasons. Sons are breadwinners. Girls have to have the matrimonial dowry for the grooms family when they marry. Also, in Indian culture, all their earnings go to their husband’s family. For those reasons, girl children are considered a burden.
So for 35 years Singh hasn’t bathed. It appears his efforts are not working so far.
This has been costly for him. He used to own a grocery store, but had to go out of business when customers quit coming to his store because of his ‘unhealthy personality’. He now works in the fields. He also incurred the anger of his family when he refused to take a ritual dip in the river Ganges even after the death of his brother five years ago.
In spite of what his neighbors have said, Kalau claims he doesn’t remember how it all began. He claims his pledge to not wash is in the ‘national interest’. ‘I’ll end this vow only when all problems confronting the nation end,’ he said.
Even though he refuses to take water baths, he does take fire baths. That involves standing on one leg next to a bonfire, smoking marijuana and saying prayers to Lord Shiva. He claims its just as good as using water to bath and the fire kills germs and infection in the body.
Oh, and he doesn’t brush his teeth either.
Considering this whole scenario its not surprising that he hasn’t had a male child. The surprising thing is that he’s had any children at all.

If the whole thing is true, following are very noteworthy.
1)Hats off to his guts to face the social and biological challenges.
2)It is proved that there are alternative ways of cleansing outer body other than taking water bath.
3)Any thing with life can evolve. It will be interesting to study if his body has been evolving to have extra resistance to fight bacteria.

It is quite horrible for a man not to take a bath for 35 long years. The fact that he is not blessed with a son, proves that such behaviour is not justified.
Actually, he has been doing a big sin since 35 years not taking bath, and offcourse he is associating partners with the true Almighty God. He is voilating the commandments of Almighty God, because, giving son or daughter is in the hands of Almighty God. It is not acceptable to think that girls are burden to the parents. If one is to implement Almighty God’s commandments, he/she will never do such things which are against the commandments of Almighty God.
They fail to realise who is the True Almighty, they are worshiping Idols, as the Veda says, they are entering to more darknes who worship the created things (idols, etc).
They just go in their own commandments. They are deniers of the true Almighty (as they associates partners with Almighty God and even go against the Hindu scriptures.)

Not sure wher you got this story from. But looks like its cooked up or you have made it up yourself. From this picture, I can tell you for sure that this is a ‘Naga sadhu’. Basically a sect of saint who are followers of Lord Shiva and they remain like this. But they do bath at some aspicious times.

I don’t bathe/shower unless my hair is very greasy. Sometimes I go 3 weeks without washing. I haven’t been sick in 10 years. Not bathing is not a sin. The Europeans in till the 15th century had no culture of bathing ( till they came to Asian countries and saw people bathing). In fact it is said that Queen Victoria – I was not even bathed just after birth but was only cleaned by a cloth.
Additionally worshipping deities as good as worshipping the holy cross. Both are made as per instructions from realized holy men. Those who feel to see the divinity in the deities and the holy cross are as good as sinners.

it is best to not misinterpret the vedas. God intermitent reading or some Excerpts and interpreting them in isolation may lead to disaster. God made thing here was meant to be not idols (not physical thing) but some unreasonable ritual or social custom like sati for example.
every religion has its own way of worshipping god and it is only an example of shallowness to comment on them without adequate knowledge which can not be aqcuired by simply reading books.
