It doesn’t get much slimier than this, a Nebraska man stole a Virgin Mary painting with the idea of using the proceeds to fund an abortion for the teenage girl he had raped. Talk about the dregs of society, Aurelio Vallerillo-Sanchez is the perfect example.

Sanchez stole a 300 year old painting of the Virgin Mary in hopes of financing an abortion in Mexico for a teenage girl he had raped. When the abortion didn’t work out, he tried to have the baby given up for adoption. Let’s see, steal a painting worth $100,000 to fund an abortion that costs a couple hundred; sounds like a plan to me.

The city of Colorado Springs, Colorado is having financial problems so the City Council is considering recommending that the Colorado Springs police sell confiscated firearms. They say it won’t solve their fiscal problems, but every little bit helps. Read about it below.

Usually, those weapons are destroyed, but the City Council is considering how much the sale of confiscated weapons can bring to the city.

Continuing down the road to mayhem, Mexico legalizes drug possession in what is being called by some “regulating the issue” as opposed to legalizing drugs. Mexico legalized marijuana, cocaine and heroin in small amounts on Friday.

There’s something strange lurking below the surface of Lake Worth Lagoon in Florida. Sea Creature? Perhaps, but it does for now have a name, the “muck monster”. Could this mysterious life form actually be a Florida sea creature? Read more of this story below and see the video.

A representative from lagoonkeepers.org remembers the first time they saw the “muck monster”; he said they followed it and began to shoot video. Greg Reynolds says he’s never seen anything like it before in his life. Most experts who have seen the video tend to agree, it’s not a dolphin or sea turtle. Twenty one years after the death of 270 people, Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, Lockerbie bomber, was released under what is being called compassionate grounds. The Lockerbie bomber was sent home to Libya to die; he is suffering from prostate cancer.

President Obama said that the decision to release Abdel Baset al-Megrahi was a mistake; family members of the 270 victims pleaded with the Scottish government not to release the man known as the Lockerbie bomber.

Facing charges in two states for making threats against lawmakers, a New Jersey blogger FBI trained it seems, is relying on that fact to get him out of hot water. Hal Turner, a New Jersey blogger, was trained by the FBI on how to be intentionally confrontational, so says his lawyer.

Prosecutors of the case have admitted that Hal Turner was an FBI informant for 5 years, from 2002 to 2007. His job? Spy on radical right-wing organizations; his lawyers in the past had said that he was not an informant when he allegedly threatened a Connecticut legislator and posted on his blog that certain federal judges deserved to die.
