James Cameron apparently doesn’t like Glenn Beck and called him out about something to do with Al Gore’s global warming. He also seemed to have a bone to pick with Beck for making some kind of anti-Christ comment about one of his movies several years ago. Beck responded to Cameron by calling Avatar a ‘Smurf-murdering movie’. He also addressed the anti-Christ statement. Does it get any more hard-core than this? Ha! I jest. See the video below.

There’s nothing more fun than when the hollywood elite try to venture into the world of politics and get out of their comfort zones. Such is the case of hollywood director James Cameron who has made public statements about his dislike of conservative political commentator Glenn Beck. Cameron, a multi-billionaire, called Beck a ‘f***ing asshole’ in a recent interview while he was promoting his blockbuster movie, Avatar. Well, when he was called on his comments he did back-peddle a bit. But still, his obvious dislike of Beck was … well … obvious.

It seems that his friction with Beck goes back to when Beck was on CNN rather than on Fox News. Apparently, at some point in time, when Glenn Beck was on CNN, he commented on his show that ‘only pure evil could have directed that show, perhaps even the anti-Christ’ – referring to the James Cameron film The Lost Tomb of Jesus. In that movie, Cameron cast down on the resurrection of Jesus. Even though its fairly obvious that Beck was joking, Cameron didn’t seem to think it was funny.

This makes me think of a question that popped in my head recently when actor Tom Hanks said that Americans were ‘racist’ for going to war with the Japanese after they attacked Pearl Harbor in World War II. I wondered why Hanks thought it was ‘racist’ to fight the Japanese, who had attacked the United States, and didn’t think it was ‘racist’ to that we went to war with the Germans who hadn’t attacked us. I still haven’t figured that one out.

Fortunately for the hollywood crowd, they just hang out with each other so they can reinforce each other’s world views without having to insert logic into the equations.

So what do you think of the conflict between James Cameron and Glenn Beck? Funny or not? Does it matter in the big scheme of things? Oh, and is Avatar a ‘Smurf-Murdering movie’?

  1. —How could Cameron be the AntiChrist? He’s already too busy
selling out, sucking up and generally covering for history’s
most awesomely genocidal regime —ACROSS the Pacific to have
any time left for the heavy duties of being a genuine AntiChrist.

    LOL

  2. It’s certainly been a shakeup of the British electoral process having television showdowns for the leaders.
