I love this story that I found over at The Pirate’s Cove. You may remember Lars Vilks, he’s the Swedish cartoonist who drew a cartoon of muhammad as a dog and now has a fatwah out on him. Islam is such a tolerant religion!

Well, it seems he’s gotten himself a dog for protection ….

The logic and composition is crystal clear. The foundation for the whole roundabout dog project was the exhibition in Tallerud which had the name The Dog in the Art. Well now is the time to introduce a new member of staff.

The artist Vilks has gotten himself a specially trained guard dog, the dog Muhammed is watching each and every movement 24 hours a day.

When you first get to know Muhammad she sure is likeable, yes it is a she, but the genus perspective is just a mark. For those who does not know Muhammad, getting close should only be done taking a lot of precaution.

Seems as she is like every other dog with the bone on its favourite carpet. But nothing is as it appears.

You have to love this! Its a FEMALE DOG named MUHAMMAD!! HA! I think Lars is unrepentant! Still, I agree with Teach, a gun would be good for protection as well.

So far, the islamists have only put a fatwa on the head of Lars Vilks and perhaps the newspaper that ran his cartoon. The mullahs haven’t gotten our favorite professional Islamic Rage Boy out slitting throats and threatening anyone who isn’t muslim yet.

An American woman has been refused treatment by a doctor in Blekinge in southern Sweden because of her nationality. The woman’s husband has now reported the incident to the Medical Responsibility Board.

Valery Johansson, who lives in a small town just outside Nashville, Tennessee, was in Sweden to celebrate Christmas with her husband’s family.

On Christmas Day, worried that she may have contracted strep throat, she sought medical help. Her husband and niece made an appointment for her at a clinic in the town of Karlshamn.

“We went up there and the nurses were really nice. They did some swab tests, which they then passed on to a doctor,” Johansson told The Local.

But when the American woman, accompanied by her husband and niece, went to meet the doctor in his treatment room, he declined to examine her.

Rather than introduce himself, the doctor waved the patient’s papers and shouted “she doesn’t have strep throat, she doesn’t have strep throat”. He then added that he would not treat her.

“He said he didn’t like Americans,” said Johansson.

He also disliked hearing English spoken in his treatment room and soon walked out.

“We just couldn’t believe it. We were left standing there with our mouths hanging open,” said Johansson.

According to Johansson, the doctor was a Palestinian who objected to American foreign policy in the Middle East.

Her niece followed the doctor into the office to confront him but was told: “I don’t deal with people like that”.

When Johansson returned to the clinic the following day she was met by a manager, who apologised and encouraged her to report the matter to the Medical Responsibility Board.

The nurses were also embarrassed by the doctor’s behaviour and repaid the 820 kronor that Johansson had handed over in advance for her treatment. They too advised her to report the doctor.

In the report Johansson has claimed that she was discriminated against on ethnic grounds.

Before returning to the United States at the beginning of January she also intends reporting the incident to the American Embassy in Stockholm.

Can you just imagine if an American doctor refused to treat a muslim woman because he doesn’t like palestinian attacks on Israel? There would be such an outcry we wouldn’t hear the end of it. Not to mention there would probably be riots and all sorts of fatwas issued for our heads. Britain even has a special gown to be cultually sensitive to muslims needing medical care. Remember how upset everyone got over a few cartoons??

Woah! Say it ain’t so!

STOCKHOLM (AFP) - Sweet-toothed Swedes who have spent hours constructing edible Christmas gingerbread houses are seeing their creations collapse in the Scandinavian country’s unusually damp winter, suppliers said.

“The damp weather spells immediate devastation for gingerbread houses. The problem is the mild winter,” spokesman at Sweden’s leading gingerbread wholesaler Anna’s, Aake Mattsson, told Swedish news agency TT.

Gingerbread houses are a popular Christmas tradition in Sweden and across the Nordic countries, with many people buying slabs of pre-baked gingerbread from stores which they decorate and stick together using icing sugar and brightly coloured confectionery.

While much of Sweden is usually gripped by freezing temperatures and heavy snow in December, southern parts of the country have recorded their mildest start to the month for decades.

In recent days Anna’s has received some 40 complaints from angry customers whose carefully crafted gingerbread houses have collapsed.

As a seasoned gingerbread expert with 41 years in the business, Mattsson urged hopeful gingerbread architects to heat the ready-baked slabs in the oven briefly prior to assembly to remove any remaining moisture.

The risk of subsidence was also reduced if builders overcame the temptation to smother their cookie houses in excessive amounts of icing sugar.

“Too much (icing sugar) can result in dampness … . It’s a common problem,” Mattsson told TT.

Okay, this global warming thing is getting serious now!
