This story has been around since last fall, but I just found it today and found it very disturbing. This is an example of the main stream medias ability to put a pretty face on an ugly, grotesque, horrific act.

The picture above is of a lovely young woman in her twenties who exudes a sense of serenity. Its actually a pleasant picture to look at. This is the picture that was used as the branding for a New York Times review of a film called ‘Hot House’. The movie was about the lives of palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons. The film, of course, focused on the need to release prisoners from Israeli prisons.

As the lovely face above peers out at you, you read the article of how these people are being held in Israeli prisons. The imagery and verbiage are all geared to engender sympathy for the prisoners. The problem is, they leave out part of the story. Actually, they leave out the biggest part of the story …. like why this angelic looking youthful woman is in an Israeli prison to begin with.

She’s a mass murderer. And she has no remorse for her acts. She unequivocally states she would do it again.

The parents of one of her victims wrote a letter about this film:

[Last June] the New York Times carried a review of a film called “Hot House” that goes inside Israeli prisons and examines the lives of Palestinian prisoners. We’re not recommending the film or the review. But we do want to share our feelings with you about the beaming female face that adorns the article [above].

The film is produced by HBO. So it’s presumably HBO’s publicity department that was responsible for creating and distributing a glamor-style photograph of a smiling, contented-looking young woman in her twenties to promote the movie.

That female is our child’s murderer.

She was sentenced to sixteen life sentences or 320 years which she is serving in an Israeli jail. Fifteen people were killed and more than a hundred maimed and injured by the actions of this attractive person and her associates. The background is here.

Neither the New York Times nor HBO are likely to give even a moment’s attention to the victims of the barbarians who destroyed the Sbarro restaurant in Jerusalem and the lives of so many victims. So we would be grateful if you would pass along this link to some pictures of our daughter whose name was Malki. She was unable to reach her twenties — Hamas saw to that.

Though she was only fifteen years old when her life was stolen from her and from us, we think Malki was a beautiful young woman, living a beautiful life. We ask your help so that other people — far fewer than the number who will see the New York Times, of course — can know about her. Please ask your friends to look at the pictures — some of the very few we have — of our murdered daughter. They are here.

And remind them of what the woman in the Israeli prison — the woman smiling so happily in the New York Times — said last year. “I’m not sorry for what I did. We’ll become free from the occupation and then I will be free from prison.”

With so many voices demanding that Israel release its terrorist prisoners, small wonder she’s smiling.

There’s just a big brouhaha going on because of the Geert Wilders film, Fitna. Obviously, a lot of people saw that coming and many people and groups tried to stop it from being released from the get-go.

I watched the film and saw acts of terrorism committed by islamic jihadists against the West and Western interest. The film didn’t exaggerate the atrocities and in fact barely scratched the surface of the outrageous behavior of the jihadists. So what’s the problem? The problem apparently is that we are not supposed to acknowledge that jihadists are jihadists. I guess we are supposed to pretend the are a loving group of people who are just badly misunderstood.

Or …. as a few commenters on my previous post have pointed out … we should all just admit that America is the big bad bully in the world and its all our fault for everything the Jihadists do around the world to anyone who does not submit to their will.

I don’t think I’ll do that, thank you very much. The jihadists have made no secret of their goal of destroying us and to pretend that is not true is akin to Chamberlain declaring that Hitler wasn’t so bad after all and there’d be peace in his time. He was wrong and the people who excuse the behavior of these evil doers are just as wrong and are part of the problem.

Its hard to blame the commenters and the ‘moderate muslims’ who refuse to condemn this behavior or who even defend the behavior. After all, look what happens to any muslims who DO speak out against jihadists in the name of islam … if they aren’t murdered they have to go into hiding. Just ask Ayaan Hirsi Ali what happens to muslims who speak out.

The jihadists are pulling out all the stops to intimidat the West into suppressing any information being distributed to the people that reminds them of the atrocities committed in the name of islam.

Its hard for me to believe how badly we are being played. On the one had they openly tell us they will destroy us and make no secret that they are developing the technology and weapons that can and will do just that. The examples of this are almost endless. And still we pretend that they are not a threat and would rather blame ourselves than name the enemy what he really is.

When did we become such cowards????? It is certainly not our heritage to be cowardly, yet we seem to have lost our will to protect our own interests. We tsk-tsk about beheadings, but then are outraged when someone reminds us that the ones doing the beheadings are islamic. Some even feel sorry for them when they are killed by our Troops!

Here’s a little bit of what’s going on now …..

I already posted that the courageous European Union has condemned the movie. They even went so far as to state the the whole concept of free speech is probably over-rated. Oh yeah? Tell our Founding Fathers that and every man who has died in every war defending our freedoms. COWARDS!

Muslim nations condemn Dutch Koran film

Geert Wilders, leader of the anti-immigration Freedom Party, launched his short video on the Internet on Thursday evening, prompting an al Qaeda-linked website to call for his death and increased attacks on Dutch soldiers in Afghanistan.

“The correct Sharia (Islamic law) response is to cut (off) his head and let him follow his predecessor, van Gogh, to hell,” a member of Al-Ekhlaas wrote on the al-Qaeda affiliated forum, according to the SITE Institute, a U.S.-based terrorism monitoring service.

The 57-nation Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) said: “The film is solely intended to incite and provoke unrest and intolerance among people of different religious beliefs and to jeopardize world peace and stability.” [If they didn't blow up people, fly planes into buildings, behead people and kill anyone who disagrees with them they wouldn't be subjected to films about what they do. They are who jeopardize world peace and stability, not a film about what they do.]

Of course the UN had to weight in ….

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned the film as “offensively anti-Islamic” and U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour said it was “hateful.”

Its not surprise that Iran disapproves …

Iran called the film heinous, blasphemous and anti-Islamic, and Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim nation and a former Dutch colony, said it was an “insult to Islam, hidden under the cover of freedom of expression.”

Network Solutions suspended the website that Geert Wilders had reserved to publish his film.

An American network provider Sunday said it had suspended a website that Dutch MP Geert Wilders had reserved to post his anti-Islamic film, which has sparked wide condemnation and fears of a backlash.

The Spanish Pundit posted this video of a Russian television newscast (in English) of the soon to be released film by Geert Wilders of the Netherlands. The controversy surrounding the release of Wilders’ film is being presented as splitting the Dutch population between those who support his actions and those who feel it is representing their culture as being intolerant and creating problems with muslims. Some of those interviewed make statements such as ‘freedom of speech is a good thing but only when used responsibly’ and that there’s no point in antagonizing the muslims and making their entire society pay for the opinions of one man.

The general message of the film is that the islamification of Europe has already gone too far and there has to be a line drawn in the sand. The detractors seem to prefer to keep their heads in the sand and pretend there isn’t a problem as long as they don’t say or do anything that tips off more bloody protests by the islamofascists. There are also the usual accusations of racism and intolerance.

The entire idea of avoiding facing the realities of the islamic situation makes me think what happens when we avoid conflict …. we create unavoidable conflict. In order to continue to pretend that the islamists don’t really mean what they say they mean (that they want to destroy us) then we avoid acknowledging there’s a problem. Unfortunately, there is a problem whether we acknowledge it or not. When we can’t say anything negative about the Koran without fear of out of proportion retaliation and yet the Bible is considered fair game because no one expects protestants to start burning, looting and killing if someone defames the Bible or Jesus Christ. But muslims will. So fear drives the unwillingness to face the conflict that is already there.

Just ask Theo Van Gogh … oh, you can’t, they killed him … then ask Ayaan Hirsi Ali how much freedom of speech they are allowed by the muslims in the Netherlands. A tolerant society is only tolerant when the tolerance goes both ways.

I found this disturbing video at Something …. and Half of Something. It is part of a documentary that can be viewed in seven segments at The Jawa Report. This documentary follows two Australian women who are converts to islam. Interestingly, they declare that Wahhabi is the form of islam followed by most converts. This is the form of islam that Osama bin-Laden follows. Its the hard-line fundamentalist form of islam that requires its followers to live as mohammad lived in the 7th century.

A 23-year old has been sentenced to death for downloading information about women’s rights in Afghanistan.

Journalist Pervez Kambaksh was reading about the role of women in Islamic socieites.

But he was accused of blasphemy after he downloaded a report from a Farsi website which stated that Muslim fundamentalists who claimed the Koran justified the oppression of women had misrepresented the views of the prophet Mohamed.

Yesterday the upper house of the Afghan parliament supported the sentence against the journalist, despite an international outcry over the harsh punishment for blasphemy.

The UN has criticised the sentence and said the journalist did not have legal representation during the case.

The Afghan government has said that the sentence was not final.

A government spokesman said recently that the case would be handled “very carefully”.

Now the Afghan Senate has issued a statement on the case - it was not voted on but was signed by its leader, Sibghatullah Mojaddedi, an ally of President Hamid Karzai.

It said the upper house approved the death sentence conferred on Mr Kambaksh by a city court in Mazar-e-Sharif.

It also strongly criticised what it called those institutions and foreign sources which, it said, had tried to pressure the country’s government and judiciary as they pursued people like Mr Kambaksh.

Some governments and international organisations have called for the sentence to be overturned.

A legal expert, Wadeer Safi, said that parliament was not constitutionally allowed to intervene in a case in the way the Senate had done, and he was concerned the new statement might prejudice the independence of the judges.

Mr Kambaksh’s brother, Yacoub Kambaksh, said that the journalist was very concerned about his future and said he had not had a fair trial or any lawyer to defend him.

But the provincial governor in Mazar has said the case is being handled with due process.

Mr Kambaksh has at least two more courts in which to appeal and the sentence would have to be approved by President Karzai to be carried out.

He is a student at Balkh University and a journalist for Jahan-e Naw (New World).

You’re probably thinking that there is something really wrong with those people for giving someone the death penalty for reading about women’s rights on the internet! That has to be an exaggeration - right? Well, here’s the good news - it IS an exaggeration. he did much worse than reading those articles. He PRINTED THEM OUT!!!!

Mr Kambaksh, 23, distributed the tract to fellow students and teachers at Balkh University with the aim, he said, of provoking a debate on the matter. But a complaint was made against him and he was arrested, tried by religious judges without – say his friends and family – being allowed legal representation and sentenced to death.

The jihadists are working hard to take back any and all progress made by the Afghan government especially when it comes to women’s rights. Any progress is and will be made by prying their hands a fingertip at a time from the throats of the Afghan people.

Sayed Pervez Kambaksh’s imminent execution is an affront to civilised values. It is not, however, a foregone conclusion. If enough international pressure is brought to bear on President Karzai’s government, his sentence may yet be overturned. A group of six British muslims who have built up a terrorists cell in Birmingham are at trial for their plot to kidnap a muslim soldier and behead him ‘like a pig’. They planned to film the attack in order to put panic and fear in the ranks of the British military and public.

This same group has raised and sent money and equipment to Pakistan to be used by terrorists in attempts to kill British soldiers on the Afghan border.

Prosecutor Nigel Rumfitt QC said Khan wanted to get “physically involved” in the bloodshed but was prevented by “his bosses overseas” because his supply operation was so valued.

Instead, the court heard, he hatched the plot to kill a soldier in the UK.

He decided to target a Muslim fighting in the British Army and asked another member of the cell to identify a potential victim.

Mr Rumfitt said: “The prosecution say that Parviz Khan is a fanatic.

“He is a man who has the most violent and extreme views. Khan was enraged by the idea that there were Muslim soldiers in the British Army, some of them from the Gambia in West Africa.

“He decided to kidnap such a soldier with the help of drug dealers in Birmingham.

“The soldier would be approached in the Broad Street nightlife area, lured into a car and taken to a lock-up garage and murdered with his head cut off - “like a pig”.

“This atrocity would be filmed. They would have the soldier’s military card to prove who he was.”

The court heard that the film would be released through Khan’s terrorist network to the Al Jazeera TV station.

Our little American traitor who has found a way to be heard by turning his back on his own country and fighting against his own country has issued another threat against America. He has proved himself to be quite useful to the enemies of our country.

This time, Adam Gadahn who is called al-Qaeda’s American, is calling on the muslim world to attack President Bush while he is traveling to the Middle East. Fortunately, our government says that the President will not be deterred by this little rodent. Well, those are my words. I think the official government statement was a little more diplomatic than calling him a rodent.

Gadahn spoke in English, to the American people, except when he spoke of attacking President Bush.

Now we direct an urgent call to our militant brothers in Muslim Palestine and the Arab peninsula … to be ready to receive the Crusader slayer Bush in his visit to Muslim Palestine and the Arab peninsula in the beginning of January and to receive him not with flowers or clapping but with bombs and booby-trapped vehicles,” Gadahn, 29, said in Arabic.

Gadahn criticized Christianity and our association with Israel. He encouraged Americans, especially veterans, to embrace islam. He went through all the typical garbage al-Qaeda usually puts out in their videos. He then did a dramatic gesture of tearing up and destroying his American passport and said something about revoking his American citizenship. That was a ridiculous gesture, of course, seeing as he’s been charged with treason. He says he doesn’t need it to travel anyway. I’m quite sure he doesn’t need his passport as he travels in the shadows of al-Qaeda. I imagine he certainly won’t be traveling to the United States of his own free will. As a traitor, his passport is not valid anyway. So it was an empty gesture probably done for the benefit of his muslim audience.

All in all, it was more of the same. Unfortunately, the audience that the video is done for may very well view it as a mandate to make attempts on the President’s life.

A British born woman who now goes by the pseudonym ‘Hannah’ has moved 45 times in the ten years since her family vowed to kill her for converting to Christianity. It all started when she was 16 years old and overheard her father, an Imam in Lancashire, making arrangements for her marriage. She ran away and converted to Christianity. At that time, her family weren’t at all happy with her, but wrote it off to teenage rebellion. It wasn’t until she was at Manchester University and was baptized into the Christian faith that her family vowed to murder her. She has been running for her life every since that time.

Last night the woman said: “I’m determined to live my life the way I want to because I should have that freedom in this country.

“If you make the choice to come to this country, as my parents did from Pakistan, you have to abide by the laws of this country and that means respecting the freedoms of other people.

One night her father, uncles and about 40 men tried to break into her house with axes, sticks, hammers and knives. They yelled through the door that they were there to kill her for turning her back on their strict Sunni Muslim religion. When their attempts to get into her house failed, they left with the promise that they would get to her and they would kill her as a traitor.

She avoided being captured by her family by frequent moves and changing her phone number frequently. She’s often had to leave her home with only a moments notice to escape her father, uncles and brothers. She got her degree and started giving lectures on Islam. She didn’t seek official assistance until recently and only then because her brother contacted her via her cell phone. He texted her with the message in which he told her that he would not be responsible for his actions if she did not return to islam.

“I know the Koran says anyone who goes away from Islam should be killed as an apostate, so in some ways my family are following the Koran. They are following Islam to the word.

“But I do not think every Muslim would act on that.

“My situation is frightening, but I’m not going to let it frighten me to the extent I can’t live my life.

“I pretty much feel like I’ve lost my family and that’s very hard.

“Some days I feel very low and what my father might do preys on my mind. But I regularly change my phone number to avoid him catching up with me.’

She now is on a list of ‘at risk’ persons and has a ‘panic’ number she can call when she feels threatened.

Yesterday Dr Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester, told delegates at the launch of a religious charity that Muslims in Britain who wished to change faiths were living in fear of their lives because of Islamic hostility to conversion.

A study this year found that 36 per cent of British Muslims between 16 and 24 believe those who convert to another religion should be punished by death.

The religion of peace continues its rampage of violence and hatred throughout the world.

I suppose everyone who pays attention to the so-called War on Terror knows about the British school teacher who is imprisoned in Sudan for naming a teddy bear Muhammad. This has turned into an international incident and I hear that a delegation of British diplomats are enroute to Sudan to attempt to secure her release and return her to her home in Britain.

Meanwhile, the Religion of Perpetual Outrage, Islam, is calling for her to be executed.

KHARTOUM, Sudan — Thousands of Sudanese, many armed with clubs and knives, rallied Friday in a central square and demanded the execution of a British teacher convicted of insulting Islam for allowing her students to name a teddy bear “Muhammad.”

Gibbons’ son reports that he has talked to his mother and that she is holding up quite well. He also reports that she doesn’t want anyone holding a resentment towards mulsims.

“One of the things my mum said today was that ‘I don’t want any resentment towards Muslim people,”‘ John Gibbons told The Associated Press. “She’s holding up quite well.”

I wonder if she’ll feel the same way when she and the teddy bear are standing in front of the mob that is out for her head.

The protesters streamed out of mosques after Friday sermons, as pickup trucks with loudspeakers blared messages against Gibbons, who was sentenced Thursday to 15 days in prison and deportation. She avoided the more serious punishment of 40 lashes.

They massed in central Martyrs Square outside the presidential palace, where hundreds of riot police were deployed. They did not try to stop the rally, which lasted about an hour.

“Shame, shame on the U.K.,” protesters chanted.

Calls by FOXNews.com to Sudan’s permanent mission to the United Nations were not returned Friday.

The protesters called for Gibbons’ execution, saying, “No tolerance: Execution,” and “Kill her, kill her by firing squad.”

The left is strangely silent about this. Their outrage apparently is only reserved for those who are not lethal. First we have this ludicrous reaction to a naive and silly woman who chose to go to a muslim country in complete ignorance and got herself at the center of an international and cultural storm. Then we have calls to tolerate their intolerance. It defies common sense and is the height of arrogance that we should not expect civil behavior from people who are from that part of the world.

Several hundred protesters, not openly carrying weapons, marched from the square to Unity High School, about a mile away, where Gibbons worked. They chanted slogans outside the school, which is closed and under heavy security, then headed toward the nearby British Embassy. They were stopped by security forces two blocks away from the embassy.

The protest arose despite vows by Sudanese security officials the day before, during Gibbons’ trial, that threatened demonstrations after Friday prayers would not take place. Some of the protesters carried green banners with the name of the Society for Support of the Prophet Muhammad, a previously unknown group.

Many protesters carried clubs, knives and axes — but not automatic weapons, which some have brandished at past government-condoned demonstrations. That suggested Friday’s rally was not organized by the government.

A Muslim cleric at Khartoum’s main Martyrs Mosque denounced Gibbons during one sermon, saying she intentionally insulted Islam. He did not call for protests, however.

“Imprisoning this lady does not satisfy the thirst of Muslims in Sudan. But we welcome imprisonment and expulsion,” the cleric, Abdul-Jalil Nazeer al-Karouri, a well-known hard-liner, told worshippers.

“This an arrogant woman who came to our country, cashing her salary in dollars, teaching our children hatred of our Prophet Muhammad,” he said.

I certainly hope this has a good ending. I hope Gibbons gets to leave Sudan alive and well and return to Britain in one piece. Not to belabor the point, I have to wonder what someone like that expects when they go to a nation that is known to be a cesspool of radical islamic activities. A Western woman would certainly have little to no power in a place like that. Another aspect of this that defies reason is, as I mentioned before, the expectation that the West will tolerate the intolerable. Its as though the left doesn’t believe people from under developed countries have the capability to behave with any law and order.

The outrage shown by the Sudanese wasn’t simply a few hundred people, but thousands streaming into the streets demanding Gibbons’ head on a platter or shot to death for allowing her young students naming a teddy bear Mohammed.

Other reports showed thousands demanding Gibbons be executed. The demonstrations in Britain were muted and responses were virtually nonexistent among feminist groups or human rights groups.

Newsbusters - can we predict that someone would come along to say that WE need to be more SENSITIVE. Sheesh.

I love this story that I found over at The Pirate’s Cove. You may remember Lars Vilks, he’s the Swedish cartoonist who drew a cartoon of muhammad as a dog and now has a fatwah out on him. Islam is such a tolerant religion!

Well, it seems he’s gotten himself a dog for protection ….

The logic and composition is crystal clear. The foundation for the whole roundabout dog project was the exhibition in Tallerud which had the name The Dog in the Art. Well now is the time to introduce a new member of staff.

The artist Vilks has gotten himself a specially trained guard dog, the dog Muhammed is watching each and every movement 24 hours a day.

When you first get to know Muhammad she sure is likeable, yes it is a she, but the genus perspective is just a mark. For those who does not know Muhammad, getting close should only be done taking a lot of precaution.

Seems as she is like every other dog with the bone on its favourite carpet. But nothing is as it appears.

You have to love this! Its a FEMALE DOG named MUHAMMAD!! HA! I think Lars is unrepentant! Still, I agree with Teach, a gun would be good for protection as well.

Empire State Building goes green for Eid

For the first time in its history, the Empire State Building in New York was lit in green in celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.

It will be green till Sunday.

So far, the landmark tower has been lit in traditional colours every year only on the occasion of Christmas and the Jewish festival Hannukah. From this year on, lighting on Eid too will become an annual event.

At the end of Ramadan, Muslims throughout the world celebrate for three days to mark the end of Ramadan. In Islam, the colour green symbolizes a happy occasion.

Soaring 1,454 feet above Midtown Manhattan, the Empire State Building was recently named America’s most favourite building in the poll conducted by American Institute of Architects.

I guess if the World Trader Center towers were still standing they might be green in celebration of the muslim holiday. Unfortunately, they aren’t and the Empire State Building is left as the tallest building in New York.

Political correctness is running amok. Last week, the White House held a Ramadan dinner for Muslim leaders and activists, even though we are still waiting for them to condemn Islamic terror groups by name.

To their delight, President Bush praised, and even suggested we all worship Allah. “I believe that all the world, whether they be Muslim, Christian or any other religion, prays to the same God,” he said, adding “I believe that Islam is a great religion that preaches peace.”

This President has proven himself to be a huge disappointment in his inability or unwillingness to remain steadfast in his fight against Islamofascism. While we are going about our daily lives as though there isn’t a war, we are ever so quickly slipping into submission.

Worse, we have Soldiers in another country fighting a war, while we give away the homeland.
