The Danes are getting really tired of their flag getting burned. The website called Stop Islamisation Of Europe (SIOE) has a report on a demonstration that was held in Denmark.

Just across the street autonomes and muslims were gathering. They were seperated from us by a line of riot police. The autonomes and muslims began to shout at us in a way that we are used of them. Meanwhile the number of people on the square was growing. Anders was doing lots of interviews for lots of press. The autonomes and muslims across the street, maybe a 100 to 130 became more agressive.

One Danish muslim completely freaked out and had to be pushed back by three policemen. The autonomes were shouting to us and were calling us racists, nazists and fascists like a bunch of idiots. They also constantly gave us the finger.

The muslims shouted something about Satan and kept on repeating it. They also shouted something in Arabic, we have no idea what they were shouting at us but we don’t think it was anything nice. A young muslim, he looked like an imam, was really screaming and yelling through a megaphone. He constantly repeated the name mohammed. Both autonomes and muslims were going completely mental and were very agressive.

One reporter tried to do an interview with them and she was called a hooker and the muslims spit on the street, only because she tried to hear their side of the story.

The next demonstration will be in Copenhagen on May 31st.

Wikipedia is getting bombarded with demands to remove depictions of mohammad.

Wikipedia, the free online encyclopaedia, is refusing to remove medieval artistic depictions of the Prophet Muhammad, despite being flooded with complaints from Muslims demanding the images be deleted.

More than 180,000 worldwide have joined an online protest claiming the images, shown on European-language pages and taken from Persian and Ottoman miniatures dating from the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries, are offensive to Islam, which prohibits any representation of Muhammad. But the defiant editors of the encyclopaedia insist they will not bow to pressure and say anyone objecting to the controversial images can simply adjust their computers so they do not have to look at them.

The images at the centre of the protest appear on most of the European versions of the web encyclopaedia, though not on Arabic sites. On two of the images, Muhammad’s face is veiled, a practice followed in Islamic art since the 16th century. But on two others, one from 1315, which is the earliest surviving depiction of the prophet, and the other from the 15th century, his face is shown. Some protesters are claiming the pictures have been posted simply to ‘bait’ and ‘insult’ Muslims and argue the least Wikipedia can do is blur or blank out the faces.

Such has been the adverse reaction, Wikipedia has been forced to set up a separate page on its site explaining why it refuses to bow to pressure and has also had to set up measures to block people from ‘editing’ the pages themselves.

In a robust statement on the site, its editors state: ‘Wikipedia recognises that there are cultural traditions among some Muslim groups that prohibit depictions of Muhammad and other prophets and that some Muslims are offended when those traditions are violated. However, the prohibitions are not universal among Muslim communities, particularly with the Shia who, while prohibiting the images, are less strict about it.

‘Since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia with the goal of representing all topics from a neutral point of view, Wikipedia is not censored for the benefit of any particular group.

‘So long as they are relevant to the article and do not violate any of Wikipedia’s existing policies, nor the law of the US state of Florida where Wikipedia’s servers are hosted, no content or images will be removed because people find them objectionable or offensive.’

The traditional reason given for the Islamic prohibition on images of prophets it to prevent them from becoming objects of worship in a form of idolatry. But, say the editors, the images used were examples of how Muhammad has been depicted by various Islamic sects through history and not in a religious context. [source]

We aren’t talking about the mohammad cartoons here - we are talking about any artwork that depicts the 7th century pedophile mohammad in any way.

Bravo for Wikipedia and to the 180,000 muslims who are bombarding Wikipedia with complains … Get. A. Grip. You do not and will not rule the world and you do no and will not impose your religion on the rest of the world or suppress free speech and freedom of the press.

I love this story that I found over at The Pirate’s Cove. You may remember Lars Vilks, he’s the Swedish cartoonist who drew a cartoon of muhammad as a dog and now has a fatwah out on him. Islam is such a tolerant religion!

Well, it seems he’s gotten himself a dog for protection ….

The logic and composition is crystal clear. The foundation for the whole roundabout dog project was the exhibition in Tallerud which had the name The Dog in the Art. Well now is the time to introduce a new member of staff.

The artist Vilks has gotten himself a specially trained guard dog, the dog Muhammed is watching each and every movement 24 hours a day.

When you first get to know Muhammad she sure is likeable, yes it is a she, but the genus perspective is just a mark. For those who does not know Muhammad, getting close should only be done taking a lot of precaution.

Seems as she is like every other dog with the bone on its favourite carpet. But nothing is as it appears.

You have to love this! Its a FEMALE DOG named MUHAMMAD!! HA! I think Lars is unrepentant! Still, I agree with Teach, a gun would be good for protection as well.

The burning of the prophet Muhammed

We declare:

Saint Hans’ Eve has always celebrated the tradition of burning away the evil, in earlier times symbolized by the witch, who was supposedly directly connected to Satan. And if the witch was not burned then the harvest could not be safely brought into the house.

Now a new evil has arrived in Europe, an evil that lies and kills in the name of their so-called God. An evil that springs from the so-called Prophet Mohammed. Therefore, in our time, it is he who symbolizes evil and it is not just one harvest that will disappear, but all of Western Europe’s future that will vanish if this evil is not dispatched to Hekkenfeldt [i.e. Hell, literally the Hekla volcano in Iceland — BB].

Therefore will we burn the so-called Prophet Mohammed, on June 23, 2007, in three nameless places.

We burned Mohammed in three different places across the country. We now release the video from the first burning. The next videos will be released on July 23 and August 23.

For a Mohammed-free Denmark!!!

A group of youth of the People’s Party of Denmark had a mohammad drawing contest while at camp this past summer. They apparently spent some time mocking mohammad. Danish TV aired the amateur video.

The images, filmed by artist Martin Rosengaard Knudsen who posed as a member of the party for several months to document attitudes among young members, show a number of young people drinking, singing and drawing cartoons ridiculing the Prophet Mohammad.

The leader of the group, Kenneth Kristensen disapproved of the events, but didn’t appologize.

“It’s not my kind of humor and it would not have happened if I had been there. It must not be repeated,” he told Danish state TV.

Danish muslims are saying they won’t be provoked …

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - Muslim leaders in Denmark on Saturday condemned video showing members of the anti-immigrant Danish Peoples’ Party (DPP) drawing cartoons mocking the Prophet Mohammad, but said they would not be goaded into taking action.

“Against the background of the problems earlier, we have to be careful,” said Ahmed Abu-Laban, a Copenhagen imam who helped organise a trip to Egypt and Lebanon last year to rally support among Muslim leaders for protests against those drawings.

However, there looks to be some mis-reporting on al-Jazeera in their arabic publications anyway. Hot Air has a translation of the al-Jazeera version of this story that adds to what Kristensen was reported to have said. While it reports that he disapproved of the groups actions but refused to appologize for it, it adds:

He called on Muslims to recognize that the Messiah is the son of God, and they must form the tariff books on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him “to improve his image in the West and the definition of it.”

The Muslim Brotherhood is none too happy about the Danish youth practicing free speech either.

While the Muslim world’s anger hasn’t yet abated against the background of the Pope of Vatican’s offensive statements against Islam and its prophet, Certain sectors in Western media once again resumed its fierce campaign against Islam, the recent of which was yesterday Friday October 6, 2006, when an organization affiliated to one of the Danish ruling coalition government, the Danish People’s Party, displayed video footage offending the prophet and portraying him in an indecent position.

The Muslim Brotherhood released a statement the following day saying that ” Muslims still come under heated vulgar words said and portraits displayed by a party in the Danish coalition government, displaying stills of video footage offending the world’s most honorable man, Prophet Mohammed PBUH” The statement added that the recurrence of such irresponsible acts shows how deep hatred the West harbors against Islam and prophet and Muslims “This is a tip of the iceberg”, the statement read, adding that this bitter hostility shows sectors in the West’s deep hatred of justice, right and all good virtues enshrined in the religion of Islam.

I’ve read a good bit this weekend about the increasing conflicts in Europe between muslims and Europeans. Inevitably, the conflicts are referred to as being between ‘gangs’. The muslim ‘gangs’ are referred to as either ‘Asian’ or ‘North African’ while the Europeans are referred to as ‘white’. The conflicts are referred to as ‘racially motivated’.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that there might be three or four incidents in which muslim youth attack Europeans and little is reported. Then when Europeans, or as reported ‘whites’, retaliate, it is reported as ‘whites’ attacking Asians or North Africans in racial violence.

In this story we have some Danish youth at a summer camp being silly, nothing more. But silly adolescent antics aren’t allowed now are they? They were covertly video taped. When those tapes are made public, they are portrayed as racists. But numerous hollywood types make outrageous statements about the Pope or ‘middle Americans’ and that is perfectly acceptable.

There really is a double standard.

And I’m pretty tired of being expected to be tolerant of an intolerant religion whose leaders have openly declared they want to destroy Western society.

Four in custody for plot to kill Israeli ambassador in Norway

OSLO - Norwegian authorities on Friday presented details of an alleged plot to decapitate the Israeli ambassador to Oslo and blow up the Israeli and American embassies in the city.

The four suspects, three of them of Muslim background, are also charged with firing at the city’s synagogue last week, causing damage but no injuries.

The evidence against the suspects was revealed in the course of extending the suspects’ remand, and is based on recordings of their conversations obtained by bugging devices placed in the lead suspect’s car.

Jewish community representatives say they are shocked by the alleged plot.

“They discussed in detail how to harm the Israeli and American ambassadors,” prosecutor Uni Price said Thursday.

At the head of the group of suspects is allegedly a 29-year-old Pakistani-Norwegian with an extensive record of violence.

According to Price, the suspect consistently expressed “radical Islamic views.”

Two other suspects are also in custody, one of Pakistani and the other of Turkish background, both 28.

The youngest suspect, who is 26, is not an immigrant. Norwegian media report he is the son of a royal residence employee.

Media reports also indicate that until May, the suspect lived in the residence area, and had been arrested several times on extortion charges.

“The shooting incident at the synagogue was grave enough,” Israel’s Ambassador to Norway Miriam Shomrat told a Norwegian newspaper, “but if there was indeed an assassination plot, this turns into an even more serious matter.”

Shomrat was expected to attend Rosh Hashanah services on Friday evening at the Oslo synagogue.

The head of the city’s Jewish community of 7,000, Anne Sender, told Haaretz that its members never considered changing their holiday plans, even after the plot was exposed.

“The police are taking these threats seriously, and have placed security around Jewish institutions,” she said.

Others said news of the alleged attacks had shaken the community to its core.

“The feeling within the Jewish community is of complete shock,” according to Mona Levy, a Jewish journalist from Oslo.

“To a large extent, the foiled plot isn’t a new stage of attacks against the Jewish community of Norway,” she said.

Several anti-Semitic incidents occurred in recent weeks in Oslo. In addition to the synagogue shooting, a person wearing a kippah was attacked and a Jewish cemetery desecrated.

Levin said the anti-Israel atmosphere following the Lebanon war enabled the attackers to legitimize their actions.

She believes a letter sent by Norwegian author Jostein Gaarder, in which he prophesies a flood of biblical proportions engulfing Israel, contributed to that legitimization.

Norway incited rage across the Islamic world in September of last year after printing a caricature of Mohammed published in a Danish newspaper.

About 70,000 Muslims live in the country, less than 2 percent of the population.

It appears that Norway’s efforts at appeasement during the mohammad cartoon wars hasn’t kept the jihadists away.

Cartoons or words that are disapproved of are met with horrific acts of violence. Talk about disproportional response!

And who says this isn’t a world-wide war on terror?

Ahmad Abu Laban, leader of The Islamic Society in Denmark calls his fellow Danes ‘lazy, uneducated, racists and ignorants who allow themselves to be manipulated by the media’. [Danish source]

You may remember this guy. He’s the one that made up some mohammad cartoons that were disrespectful of mohammad and took them to the middle east to get people rioting over the Danish cartoons that were just cartoons.

He seems a little disappointed that the Cartoon Riots have died down. Apparently, he wants to keep things stirred up.

He says he won’t leave Denmark - which is interesting since he obviously wants to destroy Denmark.

This guy is a hoot and a holler.

Imam Ahmed Abu Laban, leader of the Islamic Society of Denmark, said in his Friday sermon days after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon that he shed no tears for the victims, reported the Israeli daily Maariv.

Apparently, Comedy Central decided to reject a portion of last nights episode of South Park that was to include a cameo appearance by mohammad.

This has been highly upsetting to muslims around the world.

South Park is well-known for it’s irreverence of pretty much everything.

But last night, instead of exhibiting an image of muhammad, a blank screen appeared stating that Comedy Central refused to broadcast an image of mohammad on their network.

Jesus has made fairly regular appearances on South Park including well known appearances of Jesus covered in feces. Yet they refuse to show even a cameo of muhammad.

I never would have expected this kind of discrimination from a network of the calibre of Comedy Central.

George W. and the religious right are going too far by imposing their will on even cultural icons like South Park.
