Just when you think the main stream media in the United States couldn’t get any crazier, it does.

Today the world came crashing in around the ears of Obama supporters when they discovered that he is, in fact, only human. He left our Soldiers in Afghanistan waiting, dying and being injured while he and his entourage jetted off to Copenhagen to make a bid for Chicago to be the site of the 2016 Olympic games. One would ordinarily think that Chicago getting the games would be a long-shot. But with Obama flying there to smile and charm the Olympic committee, his followers thought it was a sure bet.

One can only wonder what the result would have been for the nation should he have succeeded in his quest. As it is, we are left just to wonder. We won’t have to watch our taxes increased to pay for the pork the president would have sent to his home town.

Chicago was the FIRST to be eliminated in the voting process. The Obama not only lost. He lost BIG. His followers couldn’t believe it. They were dismayed and in disbelief at first. Then their disbelief turned to anger and assigning blame. Yes. Assigning blame. These people actually see this as a personal affront to their Dear Leader and themselves and have to find someone to blame.

The New York Times cancels Ben Stein’s column. Ben Stein fired? Bueller? Bueller? Read about it below and see photos and a video.

Ben Stein

It seems the New York Times has decided that Ben Stein’s commercial work is a conflict of interest with his job as a Sunday business columnist for the newspaper. Specifically, he recently signed as the pitchman for a ‘free’ credit score offer that doesn’t really give free credit scores. Well, they do, but you then have to pay $30 per month for the report behind the score. The New York Times saw this as a violation of their ethics guidelines and fired him.

Who knew the Old Grey Lady had ethics!?!?

Susan Roesgen is a CNN reporter who was sent to cover the Tax Day Tea Party in Chicago yesterday. She appeared quite angry about the whole thing. The previously little known reporter certainly made a name for herself by her confrontational and barely (if at all) contained contempt for the Tea Party protesters. You can read more about it below, see her photo and see the video of her referring to the protests as ‘anti-government’ and ‘anti-CNN’.

Susan Roesgen

Susan Roesgen

The Tea Party demonstrations across the nation yesterday were a huge success. There are estimates that overall 250,000 people participated at a minimum. The Tax Day Tea Parties throughout the country had to do with many issues. It was about the people of ‘Middle America’ being frustrated about the never ending taxation and the outrageously obscene ‘stimulus package’ that has been forced on us by our representatives who apparently see the money we make as belonging to them rather than us and they just allow us to keep some out of their great generosity.

What the progressives who have taken over our government don’t seem to understand that this is a rage that has been simmering just beneath the surface for a while. The problems that started becoming hard to ignore when the democrats took Congress in 2006. In the last few months, they’ve become impossible to ignore. Its the abandon with which the progressives are spending OUR tax money. Its the dismissive nature in which they address any concerns expressed by the people. Its the way they use government entities to intimidate and quiet anyone who doesn’t agree with them. Take ‘Joe the Plumber‘ for instance. If you say something they don’t like, you will find yourself on the receiving end of an IRS audit or an investigation by the Department of Child and Family Services. Anything to shut you up and serve as a warning to anyone else who has the gall to speak their mind.

This elitist attitude and no-holds-barred efforts to keep the silent majority silent was never more evident than in the ways that the media chose to cover the Tax Day Tea Parties yesterday. The New York Times ignored it. Local stations gave it a brief mention. Apparently, MSNBC made a decision to openly mock it as many of their anchors spent their coverage of the Tea Parties and the participants of the demonstrations making adolescent sexual references. It felt like ease dropping on a fraternity. There was ongoing jokes throughout any reporting on MSNBC about ‘tea bagging’. Ha ha ha. They thought they were hilarious. In one 20 minute segment, some form of the words ‘tea bagging’ was used 51 times. The Tea Parties were called Tea bag parties. The participants were called ‘tea baggers’ and the activities were called ‘tea bagging’.

CNN took a different tack. They sent reporters to at least some of the Tea Parties. Roesgen was at the Chicago Tea Party and apparently wasn’t one bit happy about it. She was belligerent and confrontational with protesters. She asked questions without giving time for answers and spouted out left wing talking points aggressively. She seemed angry to see Obama referred to as a fascist. She declared it wasn’t a family friendly gathering and verbally hammered the man who had the sign. However, Newsbusters has a video of the very same Susan Roesgen covering an anti-Bush rally in New Orleans and seemingly having no problem at all with President Bush being portrayed with horns and a Hitler mustache. Different standards? Lack of objectivity in reporting? Say it ain’t so!

You would think that she would fired, or at the very least she would be chastised for unprofessional behavior and irresponsible reporting of an event. Instead, she’s likely to get a raise and/or a better position. She might even get a job with the New York Times or MSNBC. Then she can make snide little hateful sexual jokes about conservatives to her hearts content.

Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House and third in line for the Presidency, dismissed the Tea Parties as NOT grass roots, but rather ‘astro turf’. Her implication being the same as we are hearing from all the leftists, progressives and fringe, that this is all a vast right wing conspiracy financed and promoted by some unseen wealthy Republicans. In psychological terms, that’s referred to as ‘projection’, which is basically accusing someone else of behavior and/or thoughts that you are guilty of. You don’t need me to point out the difference in how the Tea Parties were covered as opposed to anti-Bush or anti-war protests. We’ve all seen the hand full of protesters being covered wall-to-wall by the main stream media, with high end polished matching signs, walking in and out of a close-in camera shot to make it appear that there are more of them than there are. Meanwhile, the left insist that the Tea Parties were poorly attended. The point is, if you opened your eyes and saw the events, they were not particularly professional nor particularly well organized. That is just evidence that they are, indeed, grassroots.

These are just a small sampling of the tack the left is taking to dismiss tax paying Middle Americans. We just don’t matter to them and they want us to sit down and be quiet and let them take over our country.

The problem is that these Tea Party are a preview of what COULD come should things continue to go the way they are going. Right now, we are seeing large numbers of people who don’t usually attend protests, who are tax payers, abide by the law, respect property and have jobs, get together to try to have their voices heard. No one is putting their lives or livelihoods on the line. Even at that, its obviously scaring the left. However, we could very well see just what we Americans are made of should the progressives continue to push through massive amounts of radical legislation that goes further than ever before to infringe on the basic rights of American citizens. The slow simmering anger is starting to boil. If it boils over, I guess the rubber will meet the road. When that happens, there won’t be any dissing it.

Its interesting that our representatives really don’t understand Middle America. They really don’t seem to know us at all.

The video of Ms. Roesgen’s rants is below the fold. I’ve also included some links to other related articles of interest.

CNN is selling Barack Obama t-shirts on their website, as if further proof were needed of the indiscreet love affair between the main stream media and Barack Obama. Read about it below.

CNN Obama T-Shirt

The main stream media has had a tingling up their legs love affair with their chosen messiah, Barack Obama, since he came on the scene with a speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2002. When he simultaneously won a seat in the U.S. Senate and began his presidential campaign two years ago, the unadulterated adulation just grew …. and grew. It became more constant and more obscene.

At first the old news tried to deny that they had become little more than the media wing of the democratic party. As Obama’s power base grew there seemed to be less of a need to pretend they didn’t have their own agendas. Who was to stop them anyway? Obama could and can command the very best propaganda videos, news reels, marketing and making that Hollywood has to offer. Spit and polished and ready for public consumption. You will hear and see what they want you to hear and see. Blemishes in style and policies will be easily airbrushed out.

Efforts have already started to stifle dissent now that the democrats are in complete control of our government. They have launched a petition against Rush Limbaugh in an effort to shut him up. Read about it below.

Rush Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh

The left has been very concerned that extreme radicals on the left have their ‘right’ for free speech without having to take responsibility for what they say. They also seem very concerned that anyone on the right is shut up. Thus, the President has told the Republicans to ignore Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along in HIS government. Now our Congress, the do-nothing Congress with the lowest approval rating of any Congress ever, has launched a petition against Rush Limbaugh.

Here’s the deal. They don’t want you knowing what they are doing. They don’t want people like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and others to express any dissent. The President HIMSELF has stated there IS not dissent. That’s the kind of talk of any Communist government. You might see and hear it, but they’ll tell you its not there. Just ask anyone who has lived under Stalin, Castro or other Communist leaders.

The other thing they do is develop an image of themselves that is god-like and sell themselves to the public as infallible. In Obama’s case, he’s got the best marketers that Hollywood can offer to create that image. Take a look at the new White House website. Its a website devoted to the admiration of Obama. Its not for the people anymore. Its for Obama. The allegiance is to Obama rather than to the country.

Bill Ayers, an avowed enemy of the United States is held in high regard, teaches at one of our universities, sits on boards and is the toast of the Effete Elite™. Rush Limbaugh is told to shut up and sit down or they’ll ruin him. All in the name of the very Orwellian ‘Fairness Doctrine’.

If they control the media, they control the people. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Sarah Palin was interviewed for an upcoming documentary on media malpractice. Here is a video of her interview.

Sarah Palin on Media Malpractice – Video

Documentary filmmaker John Ziegler interviewed Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as part of his documentary on ‘Media Malpractice’. In this interview, she talks about the media coverage of her 2008 campaign for the vice presidency.

She touches on the political nature of the negative coverage of herself and her family. She talks about sexism and class-ism in the politics and media today. She talks about Caroline Kennedy, Tina Fey and Katie Couric. I particularly liked one of her responses to Katie Couric’s whining about her interview with Palin.

She also expressed frustration with Couric’s characterization of her since the interviews. After being shown a clip of Couric complaining to David Letterman that no post-election interviewer has asked Palin why she would not tell the CBS anchor what newspapers she reads, the Alaska governor responded: “Because, Katie, you’re not the center of everybody’s universe.”

Of course, the left is working hard at discrediting Ziegler as a ‘right wing nut’ and making fun of his assertions of how Obama got elected. Of course, a lot of this is defensiveness and changing the subject from the basic issue of the ways in which the press presents the news to the public. What news is chosen to report and what is not and how does it form the opinions of the people.

This is a serious issue and its seriously frightening that rather than address the issue, people would rather make fun of anyone who does look at it.

As for Sarah Palin … she needs to set the record straight and then leave it alone and move on to broader issues. If she dwells too much on her personal beefs with the media, then she’ll start sounding like a whiner. This documentary gives her the opportunity to make her case and defend herself from the lies that were put out about her as fact. Now leave it alone, rise above it and move on. If she can do that then we might very well be seeing her in national politics again quite soon.

Barack Obama loves the cameras, when he has a prepared speech. This whole question and answer thing is another story. The video below is proof of his accessibility to the media over the past year.

Head in the Sand

Barack Obama has held almost daily press conferences since his {cringe} election. He walks out to stand behind his podium that proudly proclaims ‘The Office of the President-Elect’. That’s probably the first new office to be created by the proponents of huge bureaucracy. The man behind ‘The Office of the President Elect’ stands before the press corp and tells them whatever is on his mind that day. Usually he lets them know which former Clinton appointee is now in the Obama inner circle.

He seems to have started his Presidential acting a year or more ago. The problem now is that its not an act, but a reality. He hasn’t hesitated to give his vague and obscure opinion on whatever he wants, unless it is controversial and might cost him some political points. Hey, his own people said he didn’t have political courage.

Whenever there is an issue on which he doesn’t want to make a public statement, he disappears or says ‘there’s only one President at a time’. I’ve lost track of how often that has happened.

One look at the democratic party at the moment shows there is a decided lack of leadership within the party. Its in complete disarray.

My Cotillion sister, Mary Katherine Ham, compiled a summary of Obama’s ‘openness and transparency’ with the press corp over the last year. You know. Like one of those ‘the year in review’ kind of videos. I found it at another Cotillion sisters website, blatherings.

Enjoy ….

Obama Responds – Video

Time Magazine Person of the Year for 2008 is Barack Obama. I know. Its a shock. Read about it below and see photos and a video.

Barack Obama

Barack Obama

Time Magazine has chosen their Person of the Year for 2008 and its Barack Obama, pictured here in his youth as a first year student at Occidental College in Los Angeles. Of course, this comes as a surprise to absolutely no one.

Others who were considered for this were Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, and Chinese director Zhang Yimou. Past winners of the Time Magazine Person of the Year have been Russian Prime Minister and former President Vladimir Putin, Adolf Hitler and Ayatollah Khomeini who were chosen for their impact on the world regardless the manner in which they made an impact.

Interestingly, Caroline Kennedy has requested to be named Person of the Year for 2009. After a lifetime of staying out of the spotlight, it seems she can’t get enough of it now. First she is the person who chose Obama’s vice president, Joe Biden. That in and of itself should have been all the reason anyone would have needed to have returned to her world outside of the spotlight. Then she decided she wanted to be the Senator from New York as a replacement for Hillary Clinton. Now she’s decided she wants to be Time Magazine’s Person of the Year next year.

I’m betting that Caroline Kennedy will get what she wants on all accounts. I don’t know her personally, but one definitely gets the impression she’s a person who is accustomed to getting what she wants and never hearing anything negative about herself.
