I love seafood and I love Cajun cooking so it seems like a natural that I would love Cajun seafood. It makes me think of the days when my daddy took me fishing. That’s one of my favorite memories of my father. Sometimes we fished in the creeks of North Georgia and sometimes we went out of boat to do some deep sea fishing. Whatever the case and where ever we went, it was a good time spent with my father.
I was his ‘baby girl’ so he pampered me a bit. He would bait the hook for me and take the fish off because I would squeal and just hated the feel of the bait and fish. He thought that was cute, I think. My brother, on the other hand, had to bait his own hooks and take his own fish off the hook. I guess he was old fashioned like that, but neither one of us minded. Plus, my brother really didn’t seem to mind touching the worms or whatever else we were using for bait.
I ALSO love the fact that you can buy all sorts of things online. I’ve gotten to where I do most of my shopping online. So imagine how happy I was to find an Authentic Louisiana Seafood shop online. They will deliver your food fresh to you where ever you might live in the United States. That’s so cool.
I’m drooling over the Cajun crawfish they have over there. It looks fabulous. I might have to give it a try. Why don’t you go check out their website and see if they have your favorite. I’m betting they do!
When my kids were little we had chores they had to do. I’m a believer in kids learning responsibility and participating in the work as well as the fun. I used to try to make chore charts to keep track of who was doing what. The problem was that I never kept the charts up and usually didn’t even get them made up to begin with.
I have found a place online that has some great chore charts that are easy to make out, downloadable and free! The designs and graphics are all there and with just a few clicks of your mouse you can have a chore chart ready to go for the week. ChoreCharts.com is adding many more designs and features to their website so that it is becoming even more functional and fun than it is already.
I have heard people who have been concerned that using a chore chart was just a way of rewarding kids for doing chores they should do because they are a member of the family and not for reward. Its really not like that at all. The reward is the accomplishment. The charts take the parent out of the role of nagging the children to do their chores. The child can look at the chart and know what they are supposed to be doing and see whether or not there is a star next to the chore. They actually learn to be more independent because it becomes their responsibility to check the chart and make sure they have done their chores.
Eventually you won’t need the charts anymore because the goal is for your children to become independent enough to do their chores without reminders. Once they have learned, then you can use the chore charts for all sorts of other things … like maybe your grocery list! The website makes it fun to create the charts!
So why not take it easy on yourself and quit nagging your kids. Set up a chore chart at ChoreCharts.com. Its great and it works!

My kids used to love Halloween. I suspect they still do! Picking out a Halloween Costume costume was always a big deal and they always had very definite ideas of what they wanted to wear on any given year. My daughter was a witch so many times that I lost track!
I know its not Halloween, but there’s nothing wrong with playing dress up year round. My husband’s grandchildren love to play dress up and I have bought them costumes on several occasions so they could be princesses or whatever they wanted to be.
Finding good kids costumes can take some time, but there are some safe and creative designs out there. There is a wonderful selection at InCostume! I hope you’ll check it out. You are sure to find just the right thing whether its for the kids or yourself, for Halloween or any other special occasion.
There’s supposed to be a Leonids Meteor Shower tonight that should be visible to our side of the earth. Some reports call them Leonids and others call them Lyrids. I don’t know which are supposed to be seen tonight or if they are the same things and someone just doesn’t know how to spell it.
Leonids Meteor Shower comes around once a year. They should be visible in the early morning dark hours if the a full moon doesn’t wash out the view. The meteor is the remnants of an ancient comet that is visible as the earth flies through its debris.
Below is a video of a previous Leonid meteor shower.
I’m betting that just about everybody has heard of the company Lifelock by now? I saw the CEO of the company on television the other day and realized that his company is just exploding with growth. He obviously hit on a much needed service for the internet community!
I’m always looking around to see what kinds of jobs are available and ran across lifelock jobs. That’s right, they are hiring. I can see that as a fantastic opportunity considering how new the company is, the level of enormous growth they’ve experienced and the demand for their services. Its got all the elements of a real opportunity to grow with a great company.
As you undoubtedly know, Lifelock is the pioneer of the identity theft protection industry. They became so well known because the effective advertising campaign of the company CEO. He drives around in a truck with his social security number on it and has his social security number plastered at the top of his website in huge impossible-to-miss lettering. He does that because he’s so confident in the company’s ability to protect identities that he doesn’t need to hide his social security number.
Lifelock is currently providing identity thief protection for companies like AAA New Jersey, NextAdvisor.com, Ohio Valley Bank, Heartland Credit Union, Ident-A-Kid, US Airways, NARFE Premier Federal Credit Union, AAA Carolinas, Founders Bank, Michigan International Speedway, Gillett Evernham Motorsports, and Willis Group. They just announced this month that they have signed a multi-year agreement with Chicagoland Speedway to be the title sponsor for the NASCAR Sprint Cup series race. They will be at the 1.5 mile tri-oval with this years race.
It looks to me that this is an opportunity to get in on a good thing. They are looking for people in numerous areas, from sales to human resources to public relations and more. If you are looking for a good job, this would certainly be worth looking into!
Mereana Mordengard Glasgow (also known as Mereana Mordegard Glesgorv) is a pretty creepy internet legend. Its also hard to find any information on it. So, for your weekend reading pleasure, I present the creepy story (probably urban legend) of Mereana Mordegard Glesgorv. [pretend you are hearing Dark Shadows theme song here].
Apparently, at some point in time someone uploaded a video onto YouTube that was/is bewitched. The video shows a man’s face through a red filter for two full minutes. In the last seconds of the video there is a close-up of the face and the man is smiling. The video was titled, Mereana Mordengard Glasgow and is also called Mereana Mordegard Glesgorv.
YouTube removed the video from the internet after 153 people who had viewed the video gouged their eyes out and mailed into the YouTube offices in San Bruno. These people were said to have committed suicide in various ways. Its not known if they mailed their eyeballs into YouTube before or after they committed suicide (just kidding). Its also reported that they had carved a cryptic inscription into their forearms that no one has been able to decipher. [insert Dark Shadows music here]
Periodically, YouTube puts the first 20 seconds of the video online in order to stop people from looking for the real video and uploading it. Only one YouTube staff member watched the video itself and that staff member screamed hysterically after watching the video for only 45 seconds. He has not been able to recall what he saw and has required medication since. The other YouTube staff who were in the roo at the time turned the video off when he started screaming and were too frightened to look at the screen themselves.
No one has ever been able to identify the man in the video and the IP that uploaded the video doesn’t exist.
Great News! CARCHEX is offering a service that will help you when you are in the process of buying a car. CARCHEX is a service that is called Car Buying Concierge.
It can be such an ordeal to buy a car so its very nice to have some help with it. I have learned the hard way that the salesman will work hard to sell you a car you don’t even want. Fortunately, I’m pretty hard headed and it hasn’t worked with me. In fact, my husband has laughed at how I deal with car salesmen. He says he’s going to let me deal with them every time we buy a car. Its not that I’m that good at it. Its that I’m that cheap. I don’t like spending more money than I have to spend on something and I know they’ll come down in price. I know they want to sell the car even if it means making a smaller profit. So I keep at it until I can tell they won’t go any lower. My husband thinks that’s really funny!
That why its good to have a company like CARCHEX. They are available 24/7 and whenever you are ready to purchase new or used they are there waiting to help you with the step by step process.
I think this could be a very useful service for people who are uncomfortable dealing with sales people or are uncertain about making major purchases. You can call them or chat with them via live chat. The service is free which is even better. How about you? What’s happened to you when you have bought a car? Could a service like CARCHEX help you in purchasing a new car?
My husband is a Survivorman fan so that means I’ve watched Les Stroud mark his territory more than once myself. You know how it is, we women watch what our men watch. Its just a fact of life, men control the remote.
Interestingly, there is a story in the news right now about a guy who survived because of watching Survivorman. Twenty-four year old Christopher Traverse spent five days lost in the snowy wilderness and credits Survivorman with his survival. Seriously!
Mr. Traverse said he credits his survival to knowledge gleaned from an unlikely source.
“I watch a show called Survivorman,” he said.
Survivorman is a reality-based show whose protagonist, Les Stroud, ventures out into the wilderness for a week at a time, with nothing but his wits to survive on.
It’s from the show that Mr. Traverse said he learned how to eat snow to fend off dehydration, and how to make a shelter from the twigs and branches.
“I wanted that experience — I got it and then some,” Mr. Traverse said with a laugh.
Traverse had been on a fishing trip in the wilderness of northern Manitoba when he got lost on the way back to his uncles house. Fresh snow had covered up his tracks and while trying to find it way without having the tracks to follow his snowmobile ran out of gas.
He used the survival skills he learned from watching Survivorman and managed to not only survive in the frigid weather for five days but to eventually make his way to town and walk into a store to call his family.
Searchers are looking for his snowmobile, but he said his family won’t let him go along to look for it. Ha!

Japan’s oldest person died today at 113 years of age. She was Kaku Yamanaka who was born on Dec. 11, 1894. She only became her country’s oldest person in February after Tsuneyo Toyonaga passed away. Health Ministry officials have not named Japan’s new oldest person.
The world’s oldest person lives right here in the good ol’ U.S.A. Edna Parker of Shelbyville, Indiana is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest person in the world at 114 years of age. She was born on April 20, 1893 and will turn 115 on her birthday.
Just a little bit of useless information to keep you informed and help you be the life of the party!!! I’m always here to help.
